I THINK I KNOW WHAT THE "12-12-12" MEANS

o.k., bare with me now. I think the three 12's do mean 3 years....and here's why.

"1185 days, 9 hours, 49 minutes, and 18 seconds since Van Halen's last live show."

This came from Grant's site. It is the running clock he has on the top. If you take the total number of days and divide it by years, it is 3yrs, with a remainder of 95 days, or average of 3 months and 4 or 5 days, using an average per month. I also think, if my memory serves me correct, the ":" in algebra terms means (is the same as to). So, "12-12-12:5-2=3" could in possibly mean; (12-12-12):3yrs, (5-2=3):3months. So, my theory is, it could just be Brad's runnig clock, only in a different way of sorts, which is right down his alley for normalsy for him to do such a thing. I thought about Grant's countdown clock,too.
But I know that the last number in 12-12-12: X and counting is a countdown in DAYS to Friday night/Sat.

But maybe a 12 represents a year long tour?

You are somewhat correct about the Algebraic(sp?) meaning of the ":". I think it implies a ratio. Like 2:1 would mean 2 for every 1. I thought about making a comment about that, but when the equation started changing (i.e. counting down), I figured I was wrong.

I think it means NOTHING.

At least in the sense of an announcement regarding the future of VH (singer, album, record label, etc.)
