Default Some of my Sam Favorites

    Hey -

I've noticed a pattern with some of Sam's music, and I kind of dig it. There are 4 (5, if you count Van Halen) songs out of the same mold that I dig.

    The Real Deal
    Don't Fight It (Feel It)
    Little White Lie
    Sam I AM

    (Finish what ya Started)

I really kind of dig the whole vibe of all these tunes. I've been jammin Don't Fight It lately quite a bit...I'd love to hear all of them live...I never used to like Little White Lie, but he plays it so much live, it has really grown on me.

I was a Hagar fan before he joined Van Halen. He has some killer solo stuff! I play his stuff as much as I play Van Halen...AND THAT'S ALOT!!!!
    ALEX IS GOD!!!

I've been doin' this for 'bout 20 years now, and I'll tell ya, to this day I still don't know the right drumstick from the left drumstick -Alex Van Halen

I can go on for days with the Hagar songs that kick ass, before and after VH, they ain't all lyrical masterpieces but like Ed used to say "if they sound good, they're good"

Sammy has a pretty solid pattern for his songs in and out of VH. I am listening to standing hampton more now than I used to... all of his stuff is timeless...

if you can ever get your hands on the whole HSAS concert do it. Songs like "In for the kill", "tough enough", "ever since you came" and "what should never be" are awsome. I might be wrong about the title on the last one but I think that's it.

Serious Juju and Hallelujah are great tracks. Also a very powerful track from that CD is Karma Wheel. Maybe my fave Sam solo track ever.

Not 4 Sale and Standing Hampton are his best records, by far.

Street Machine and Danger Zone are my favorites but I can't rule out Musical Chairs because the studio version of Reckless will always stand up to the best rockers around...

    Hell yeah it is.

My favorites are Not 4 Sale and I Never Said Goodbye (I have the un-named version of the cd for those that remember ).

    Great stuff there.

MTM is a monster CD so is 10/13, some of the stuff off of 10/13 could have been huge but Sam wasn't getting radio play back then, I always thoguht if "a little bit more" was in a movie during a break up scene it would have been perfect....

oldschool sammy, street machine, anything live especially the live version of BMS when Sam and GAry Phil have thier little guitar dual: " C'mon gary, you wanna have a little battle? Keep your job? Take your best shot!", Burn in Hell, Trans Am, Love or Money-"I may be crazy but I ain't no fool!!", The Night...I could go on and on..silver lights, reckless..

Not 4 Sale was awesome. I wonder what magic he stumbled upon. Karma Wheel gives me chills. It has a real Crossing Over feel to it, no?

I own quite a bit of Sam solo...and everything he's done since he left Van Halen both times...MTM and Not 4 Sale, are great albums. I love all the collaborating he did on MTM. Bootsy rocks on Would you Do it for Free?

So where can I get my grubby paws on this one? Is it on dvd anywhere or just on cd?
