    Default Toyota FJ Cruiser 4x4

Anyone seen that new Toyota FJ Cruiser? That's a cool looking SUV. The 4x4 is pretty affordable at under 24,000. My fiance drives an Xterra SuperCharged, but gas being what is it, fuck the premium fuel. It may make some sense making a change in a year...who knows.

Anyone get a close up of this thing? It's kinda like Toyota tried to make their own Hummer-type vehicle.

    The Boston Pilgrims (1903-1906)
The Boston Red Sox (1907-present) - Proof

The Pilgrims/Americans/Somersets whatever you want to call them, have NEVER displayed "SOX" anywhere on their caps, jerseys, or merchandise, therefore they shouldn't be referred to as such. However, the White Sox have used "SOX" since 1912.

The SOX are in Chicago...we just allow the Pilgrims/Americans/Somersets to use the name.

My neighbor just got a yellow one. The back doors are suicide mouted. They look BTTB. I don't know anything else about 'em but they are way cool. Next time I see Bob I'll talk to him about it. Heck, it's a Toyota, it has to be good.

Just what we need--Japanese companies adding to the bullshit excessiveness
    "Suck a fat one, faggot."
-MikeL, showing off that sharp wit of his.

"You may recognize some of these chemicals. Let's start with cyanide...The one the Aum Shinrikyo cult attempted to use to commit mass murder in a Tokyo subway in May 1995...The same cyanide produced routinely--1.4 million tons per year--for use in the production of plastics, adhesives, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and so on. It seems that those who put small amounts of cyanide in subways are terrorists. But those who produce it in mass quantities and contaminate broad reaches of soil, water, and air, killing countless living beings, are not terrorists, but rather capitalists, and are counted among the finest and most powerful people on the planet."

"You know what's weird to me is Christians who are against the death penalty. After all, if it weren't for the death penalty, we wouldn't celebrate Easter!"

How many SUVs does Toyota need?

That thing is ugly, and there have been several reported problems with it. If I am not mistaken, it's already been recalled once for steering or suspension issues.

that's funny that there are issues, being it's on an existing chassis. you'd think they'd have the have the bugs worked out by now.

The front end looks like they were trying to go retro (like all the other car mfgrs are these days), but then somewhere around the middle it fell apart.

Probably looks more like the Honda Element than the Hummer. But then Honda was probably ripping off Hummer in the first place.

And all these new/old car designs would be cooler (and probably better sellers) if they came with the option of a (bio)diesel engine. What good is a cool car if you can't afford to drive the fucking thing?

the FJ is starting to grow on me, but it would never replace my Jeep.

Petersen's 4 Wheel and Off Road is building an "Ultimate" FJ, and so far it looks pretty bad-ass. they had a cage installed and i think they are swapping in a solid front axle. it's gonna have at least 35 inch tires, maybe 37's, i can't remember.

if Toyota built this i'd get one:

this was the Retro Cruiser concept for '99. it's an old-school Cruiser body widened and lengthened to fit the then-current Land Cruiser chassis. Rod Millen did most of the work.

a local gas station has an absolutely mint early 70's Land Cruiser, and a slightly more beat up one that they use to plow the parking lot.
