Roth plays Foxwoods Casino on new fall tour
Dave will be in CT at Foxwoods on Sept. 16th.
I guess I have to go on principle, right?

No you don't have to go. Ticket $ is twice what Sammy was when he played CT and you only get 1/4 VH. Plus he isn't that good anyway. Its like seeing a decent VH cover band. Let the attacking begin.

Actually, I would say that you almost HAVE to go. You live in a small state, it would be one night off to spend a little money and see a great singer play all your favorite songs. If you dont think this tour is worth checking out, then look around at all the threads in this forum (written by people like myself who have seen him before) devoted to how much better Dave is doing recently and how he hasnt looked/sounded this good in years. Go see Dave, you won't regret it.

I do live in a small state but in the next 8 weeks I'll be seeing Queensryche, Iron Maiden, Deftones, Korn, Staind and Rob Zombie. I have seen DLR many times in the past and it was ok. Maybe he does sound better now than in the past but I still wouldn't pay $40-$50 to see him now.

$40 or $50 is peanuts compared to what most bands charge these days.
Dave never takes a night off and gives 100 times a performance today than most of the superficial bands out there that all sound alike...Bono Vox: Poetic, Political, extremely generous and just a tiny bit egomaniacal.
"You know twenty-five years ago, Tony Soprano was driving around Jersey in his iroc-Z just blasting the Van Halen"-David Lee Roth
"Will there be a Van Halen reunion? “I have hope and faith, and that’s more than just the name of a couple of strippers from Albuquerque” -David Lee Roth
"This band is three quarters original, one quarter inevitable" -David Lee Roth~2007
"“We had a lot of fun on the tour – Dave was a blast. And next time we go out, we’re going to have some new stuff, too. I’m looking forward to getting on it. I’ve got tons of music written, such a variety of stuff… Actually, next week or the week after, Wolfie, Alex, and I are gonna start jamming. Maybe we’ll give Dave a call and see what he’s up to.” - Edward Van Halen ~ 2009

Dave should pair up with Cherone and than maybe they can get 15-20 per ticket! Look I saw Dave for the Little Ain't Enough tour, the day of the show I picked up front row center for $30.00 each. All I'm saying is that if he were to drop the ticket price maybe more people would go. My past experiences with seeing him live weren't that great so I personally wouldn't pay that to see him now.

Most of these places he's playing, you should get in free with your paid admission to the grounds.
That way, when he's yukkin' it up between "Jump" and "Just a Gigolo", you can leave and go ride the "Zipper" or have your picture taken with the "Yak Woman".
Don't forget to try the ribs, and drive home safely. The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.
