Songs you never want to hear mangled in a music store again...

Got this idea after the "2 songs you'd sell your soul to play" thread...
We've all been there...the 13 yr old showing his friends how to destroy the opening of "Stairway To Heaven". So other than Stairway, which NO ONE ever wants to hear again, what songs should be banned from the local Guitar Center?
I'll take the easy 2 VH ones:

Unchained
Both of which I heard last week (VERY BADLY), and then the kid tells his friend "it doesnt sound quite right because EVH was plugged into thousands of dollars in effects"

I don't venture into music stores much so all I've got to go off of is Wayne's World. I'm kinda glad to not have to subject my delicate ears to that sorta noise tho. The thought of any classics being annihilated by the kiddies is too much for me.

I'm one of the few who smile when a hear a kid try the tapping part of Eruption. I know it gets on some peoples nerves, but its nice to see a 14-18 year old play something that is new to them, that was once new to you 20+ years ago.

Heh. Back in the day when I worked at a guitar shop, I put up a sign of stuff we were sick of. VH was not anywhere on the list. We were sick of:

1. That crappy Marilyn Manson remake of "Sweet Dreams"
2. Anything by Bush
3. Anything from the Black Album
4. Yellow Ledbetter
5. Any Blink 182.

We had to take the sign down because none of the kids knew anything else.

Even better, how many times has someone told you they can play Eruption? I always laugh at the one. I worked with a guy back in '97 who used to tell me all the time that his brother could play Eruption perfect. No fuckin' way. Especially back then before the tabs we have now and all that shit. He supposedly figured out most of it by ear. Bullshit. I know there are a few around here that I've heard who nail it real well (MOJODOJO comes to mind), but seriously, how many people can really play Eruption?

The last time I was in guitar center, a few of those little emo bitches walked in, picked up a tele and a les paul and TRIED to play Enter Sandman and Little Wing. Good freakin God! I havent laughed that hard EVER! I was playing some stuff on a Joe Satriani model and some stacks were behind me and I almost knocked them over because I was laughing so hard. They saw me, looked at me, and I just laughed some more. Even some of the guys working at GC got a chuckle out of it.

I just couldnt believe that they were trying to play little wing. Believe me when I say that Jimi would have been rolling in his grave if he heard their version of it.

I get kind of annoyed when my guitar playing buddies try and play Eruption like they know what their doing, when their actually playing it wrong. I mean the final tapping section that is. Then again anybody apart from EVH plays Eruption wrong anyway. Of all the videos and sound bytes I have heard of people playing Eruption I have never heard one person who has gotten even close to the sound and the style that Eddie has in that song. Even some of the notes and sections are played totally off.

But regarding hearing people play things in guitar stores. I'm a teenager myself so I can not really feel too proud when I hear someone younger or my age playing VH.

However, I would be sick of hearing Eruption being played in a guitar store all the time which I'm sure it does cause when I first started playing guitarI was in there trying out the Wolfgang playing Eruption feeling all cool. Now looking back I feel like a total tool and idiot.

music is about many things, but guys make it sound like all the kids should be sucking on your dicks.

let the lil' fuckers play whatever they want. strum some chords no matter how bad. if anything the effort should be laudable, no matter how shitty it is. eventually 1 or two may actully end up writing a tune or two thats decent. whenever i see a kid drooling at a prs hung up on the top rack i take one down for him and let him play the fawking thing.

I applaud a good effort just like everyone else, but when I see kids mainly my age trying to play Eruption then acting like their "The Shit". that kinda of annoys me.

Well I don't frequent GC that often so I guess it does not bother me. However I will say that any kid trying to play VH is a good thing. What I can't stand is these damn punks who turn the gain up to 10, bass to 10, mids to 0, treble at 10 and then start playing. Sounds like total shit regardless of what you play.

Get some mids in there and turn down the gain!!!!

I guess the two songs that I do hate to hear is Enter Sandman and well anything else by Metallica.
