Ordinarily, MikeL, I would question the reasoning behind a MOD (who would know better) posting a topic in MAIN that a)deals with WARRANT, b)deals with EEAS, which is NOT a VH record, and c)only mentions VH insofar as Dave was once (twice? thrice? with the band).

But, under the circumstances, I will decline to actually bring the above up with any seriousness, as it as close to VH news as we've had.

I went to a seedy little bar to see a seedy little bad called Warrant tonight. They did the same unenthusiastic show they always do, but that's not what we're here to discuss. [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]

Between the opening act (the singer had pipes like Bruce from Maiden) and Warrant, they played damn near all of EEAS! That was pretty fucking cool! They didn't play That's Life, but that's not too surprising.

When Warrant came on, god love'em, Jani said he's nothing compaired to Dave. "I'm just a pimple on his ass!"

Nice to see Dave getting some recognition. The crowd ate it up, too. [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

Someone slap me, but I kinda of liked Warrant back in the 80's. I saw them once in concert and they put on a great show. Ah, the good old of days of hair bands singing about getting laid and drunk. Man, I sure miss em.

Warrant has a couple of songs that I like like Cherry Pie and Big Talk. I think Winger would win that vs. battle though, they are better musicians IMO.

Warrant is a great example of a band that has lost their motivation, and is slowly coming apart. Jani Lane is a really, really great songwriter, but he doesn't seem to have much of a work ethic. They tend to try following trends too, which moves them further and further away from what they once did well.

Most rock bands erode as time goes on, if they don't just quit. The coolest thing about seeing Dave live is that he doesn't erode like that. He's still kicking ass like he used to. He plays to his strengths, and doesn't show his weaknesses. Sammy is the same way.
