Default You Wear It Well from VH3

I remember reading the tracklist to the failed follow up to VH3, and one of the songs were titled You Wear It Well. Anybody think this would be a Rod Stewart cover? I downloaded the song, and it kinda sounds like something Cherone would sing.

Pointless thread I know, but topics are getting low nowadays. And yes, VH3 was underrated.

I don't think VH would have done a Rod Stewart cover for the followup to VHIII. I still would love to hear the demos they did for some of the songs.

Yup yup. I wish they'd have been "leaked" like TWILY was. It'd be nice to have them (as opposed to the nothing we've had).

I don't think it was a Rod Stewert song but Gary did a song on the Tribe of Judah CD called Ambigious Headress and in the chorus there was a line that said "You wear it well", I wondered if that was the same song.

I think you're likely correct, alot from those sessions did find their way onto the TOJ cd. And considering this was just a working title with VH that would certainly make it one hell of a coincidence. Too bad that stuff was bever completed, the TOJ cd had some great stuff on it. I wonder what the boys could have added to it

Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait a minute. You mean to tell me, that we were about to go from hearing covers of the greats like Led Zepplin and The Who to a cover of Rod "the Fraud" Stewart. That no-talent ass-clown (to quote Office Space's reference to Michael Bolton). You've got to be fuckin' kidding me.

I don't think it's a cover. Here's the notes on that song according to the official site back in 1999:

    http://web.archive.org/web/199910050.../newalbum.html

You Wear It Well- This song features a stellar tapping intro that sounds like an extraterrestrial on acid!

Maybe it was a Rod Stewart cover and "Miss You Much" was a Janet Jackson cover, now that would of really been something. Could you see Gary dancing on stage to "Miss You Much"?

If you scroll down you see Patrick Leonard's credited with working on a couple of tracks. Is that the same Patrick Leonard Ed jammed with at the House of Petals? Small world...too bad that album never made it out cause I think it would have been stellar. It's a shame Gary never really had a fair chance.

Rod Stewart "no talent ass clown"?.... You should check out his material from the 70's before you diss him. He is a true legend and one of the great blues singers from his era. A damn good song writer back in the day as well. To each his own, but "no talent"? Come on ....

Simply a matter of opinion. I have heard his music, from all eras, and have not been impressed. And I do have an issue with him, that dates back many years, as do the rest of the people in Springfield, MO.

Several years ago, he was scheduled to do a concert in Springfield, MO. He cancelled that show, sending a note to the venue, supposedly from his "mother", claiming that he was sick. That's not the big problem, though. Were that the case, people would have understood. Instead, he was playing a larger venue, in another town that night. Double booked? Maybe, but he refused to rectify the matter, by playing another show in Springfield, or at least issuing an apology to the city. He hasn't returned to Springfield, since. So, needless to say, I have a very low opinion of the man. Now is that grounds to judge his music? No, it's not, but again, I was never that impressed with anything that he had done, anyway. I'm just glad that I wasn't one of the unfortunate people that actually paid money in hopes of seeing him, only to be let down. Yes, they got the money back, but many of them will never pay another dime for anything of his, ever again.
