Van Halen thanked in the liner notes of Sammy's latest CD

I hope this isn't a repost, but I searched both the Van Halen forum and the Red Rocker forum and didn't see anything about it.

Well, I picked up Sammy's new CD "Livin' It Up!" yesterday and was reading the liner notes. In it, he thanks Van Halen. I thought that was a good sign that maybe they might work together in the future again. It may not be the biggest news in Van Halen history, but at least it's a bone to chew on for a while, and maybe gives us a slight ray of hope that things aren't as bad in the Van Halen camp as we once thought.

I scanned the liner notes & uploaded the picture. Here it is:

Sammy in his heart knows that Van Halen is something special and I believe he would love to do more stuff. He just wants Ed to get his life right first. I think if that happens, we will see them again. Ed is a grown man though and untill he decides it's what he wants, we all get to just wait and see.....

He knows that Van Halen was a big part of his life and I think its nice that he thanked Van Halen.

I am reading way too much into this because the porn thing has died down. Its once again boring in here.

He put Van Halen down because he put his other group activities down except for Planet US....which he dismantled.

You have to put VH there if you are going to put Montrose and HSAS...far lesser bands in the scheme of things.

He did list Mike separately which means that Alex is not as close as one might believe. You think that Chad Kroeger means more to Sammy then Alex? Jerry Cantrell? Guys he has jammed with get a mention while a good friend like Alex gets lumped together with Eddie (a guy he is not tight with at the moment) and Mike (who is already listed).

Seems like if Alex and him were so tight, he should get a mention. He did play in the same band for 10 years. I do understand maybe it was done this way because Eddie would be excluded which would raise a firestorm. Alex is basically guilty by association.

Or maybe he is not that great of friends with Sammy as Sammy says.

I do think its a nice gesture.

I'm just waiting for the post that says "there Sammy goes again, knocking the band." At one end you have those who read too much into it and at the other, those who will find a way to spin it as an insult... "How dare he mention HSAS and Montrose in the same breath as Van Halen!" Oh yeah, and then there will be the inevitable, "Well, Dave wouldn't have said it that way..."

I thinks it's more telling the comment, "I miss you Mr. Leffler". Things would have turned out very differently in a lot of peoples lives if he had not passed away.
