I was driving a co-worker of mine to lunch the other day when we were listing to "Hot For Teacher" on CD in my car. He said he wasn't a big Van Halen fan, but he really liked that song. I asked him if he'd heard other songs by them, and he said that he only heard the main ones that are played on the radio. So I said, "You haven't heard anything yet!" I took "1984" out and put in "Fair Warning" and turned it up. I watched his mouth fall open and his eyes widen when the intro to "Mean Street" faded in. He couldn't believe what he was hearing! He was totally blown away by it.
Introducing someone to Van Halen's music is a pretty cool experience. A lot of people think of "Jump" and "Why Can't This Be Love" when they think of Van Halen. The "radio fans" don't know about the bad ass stuff on "Fair Warning". I wish I could've seen my face when I first heard that song.Leave everything to me!-Powdered Toast Man
