Friday night Las Vegas show..CANCELLED!

Just to let everyone know, that the first of two Las Vegas shows was cancelled due to a freak wind storm on friday night. This was a real bummer, considering that I drove down to Vegas fro Vancouver just to see the show. The weather had been very hot all day and they were calling for thunder storms in the evening. The thunderstorms never materialized, but the winds were very strong.

Just as Sammy was about to hit the stage, the winds picked up and blew the protective tarp right off the top of the stage rigging. Everyone on the floor was then asked to back away from the stage because the lighting rig looked like it could come down at any time. At around 9:45pm, the announcement was made that the show was cancelled and that tickets would be honored for the next night's show or money would be given back upon request.

I guess that there's no fighting mother nature when she decides to lash out. On a more positive note, I was walking in the casino later that night and ran into Vic Johnson. He was nice enough to stop and chat a little and expressed his discouragement regarding the show being cancelled. he also took the time to pose for a pick which I will post as soon as I can upload it(the man is a class act).

A wind storm, caused by mother nature herself, forcing the show where he was supposed to make his big announcement to be cancelled. Well, you know what that means!

Well, all things considered, I think that was a reasonable thing to do. At least they didn't cancel because of more personal reasons.

Smart move to cancel the show.

You know if someone gets hurt that somebody is getting sued.

Bummer about the show... but you got to talk to Vic!!! I'll take talking to Sammy for 5 mins over seeing a full concert any day.
