Jump- Oshkosh WI on July 6, 2006!

I'm not sure if this has been posted yet but someone at the Army posted this and if anyone had doubts about Dave performing just check out 'Jump' and Dave singing better than ever and hitting some high notes!

The funny part is the chick running up on stage and you talk about timing with Dave, funny comment as she's whisked away!

If there was ever a better time for a reunion this is it!

I’ve got tons of music written, such a variety of stuff… Actually, next week or the week after, Wolfie, Alex, and I are gonna start jamming. Maybe we’ll give Dave a call and see what he’s up to.” - Edward Van Halen ~ 2009

sigh. I saw Roth in concert this summer and this video is pretty much how it was. Though the songs were great, and it was refreshing to hear the real lead singer performing Van Halen songs instead of in 04, its also apparent that his voice is NOT fine, and his fan base is moving into cult status. All I have to say is that if he doesn't reunite with Van Halen, i don't know if he'll even be able to fill the smallest venues. At my concert, and at the one on this video, it feels like its taking place in a fucking high school gym. From the tiny ass stage, to the screeching of the mic when Dave walked too close to the speakers. I really feel that this is a time that he belongs and NEEDS to get on stage with Eddie. Time is certainly running out.

Hey, we can't all agree and maybe you saw Dave on a back to back night and he was off somewhat on his performance. We can’t expect every show to be incredible and that goes for any performer and everyone has a bad day. But I can tell you that I've seen Dave in Van Halen since 1981 and from the time he began his solo career upon leaving Van Halen, let me say it's remarkable how far he's come as a 51 year old! There have been bumps in the road but the Dave we saw just a few weeks ago in Atlantic City impressed a few of friends who never saw him in concert before and I was blown away! He had a day off in between his performance from his New York gig and he was singing like he meant it and like any performer/performance you have to "be there" to truly experience the magic and to be in the moment! I was not expecting Dave of 1981 and we shouldn’t rightly so, but at the same time it's the best I've heard him in years and that's including near the end of his stint with Van Halen.

When I think about the songs Dave sang on in 1996 with VH on the “best of” it would’ve sounded a helluva lot better now considering he's lost the "yelping" in his voice which is annoying and is singing better with age, trust me! Damn, even his screams are back! I don't know if it's the conditioning and seriousness he's put into performing now but he still has it, no doubt!

I've seen a number of his concerts the past few years and being fair in comparing his voice from let's say, the Dave & Sam tour, he's singing just fine and his range is better than it was as far back as 5 years I'd have to say.

Like I said though, you really have to be there these days to capture the effort Dave puts into performing and appreciate what he offers after all these years!

    I agree....Wayne Newton is a good choice.
One noticeable difference between Judas Priest and Metallica...
...Judas Priest only has one gay guy in the band.

Looking forward to seeing Roth play more of these shows. It's the closest way to see real Van Halen in my opinon. Band sounded great!

If what I just watched is what you consider real Van Halen, I think I'd have to pass. I will say this, Dave is sounding much better these days than he did on the Sam & Dave tour. That's good.
But how you can even venture to say that having Ed, Al, and Mike on stage together isn't real Van Halen is dumbfounding. I'm stupified!

I think what Rocket meant was seeing Dave perform the classics now is in a sense of bringing to life what we're trully missing with all the great material Van Halen has from their past.

I personally wouldn't say it's like seeing Van Halen but like I've said before, Dave sounding this good recently would make it the right time for a true reunion!
