Default Worst movie derived from a TV show

Not that I've seen any of them to the best of my knowledge but there are many of them. I understand "Miami Vice" is coming out soon or came out already I don't know.

I'll definetly check out "Dukes of Hazzard" to check out Jessica Simpson's A+ body and tits. But, I was never a fan of the TV show.

Now, I loved "Charlie's Angels" in the 70's. Especially the first 2-3 seasons. After that it went downhill once Kate Jackson left. I guess out of loyalty I was never interested in the movie version of the show. Furthermore it looked really stupid.

The "Charlie's Angels" ladies of the TV show were much more attractive and sexier than the actresses in the movie version. Those actresses in the movie version are dogs in my book.

Even though I enjoyed the movie, Brian De Palmer's 'The Untouchables' was comical compared with the original TV Series with Robert Stack.

Would've been funny if they included Bepop & Rocksteady in 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' movie.
Bobby Cohn: Who's going to be at Waynestock?
Wayne Campbell: Um, uh...Aerosmith & Pearl Jam!
Garth Algar: Ha ha ha ha ho!
    Bobby: Who else?
    Garth: Uh, me...and...and Wayne...
    Wayne: ...and uh...VAN HALEN!!!
Garth: Wow. Van Halen. Who else?
    Bobby: Yeah, who else?
Wayne: Uh, an old man fashioning a kayak out of a log?

I thought that sucker was pretty good with DeNiro and Connery. Costner is OK as long as he doesn't have to carry a movie.

Good call, those stunts in it got really stupid after awhile.

Miami Vice. I havent seen the movie but I can already tell that it is no where near the glory of the series. I saw a trailer today for it and in the background, you could hear that someone or some band had re-done Genesis's "In the Air Tonight" and it sounded like shit! Besides, this movie is lacking many things. Most notably....the jackets, the bright shirts and sockless shoes! Oh and great 80's music!

Miami Vice followed closely by Dukes of Hazard and from what I'm reading, Dallas is the next victim. Idiots!!

Why the eff do they gotta keep ruining the shows with movies????? If the concept was so great it woulda been done while the shows were still around or right after they went off the air.

I agree with you, it is a good movie and I always enjoy watching it when it's on. Wasn't trying to put the movie down with negativity. My only preferred complaints to it was much of the fiction in the script that went with it compared to the original TV series to make it more sensationalistic for audiences. But that's just me I guess. The scenes with the cops and robbers shootout on the Canadian border, the baby-pram slow-motion saving sequence, and Frank Nitty's death from being pushed off the rooftop of the courthouse are good for a belly-laugh. To me it's just another typical action film with disregard to the real story. The performances by the actors, especially De Niro and Oscar-winning Connery, as well as De Palmer's talent as director definitely make up for it. Garcia was great too considering he was the newcomer back then.

Dragnet with Tom Hanks and Dan Akroyd in 1987 was pretty lame.

I never saw it, but it's my understanding that "McHale's Navy" was pretty bad.

Why they would decide to do "The Honeymooners" with Cedric the Entertainer is beyond me. I absolutely refuse to watch it.

How about "Ringmaster", which is based on the Jerry Springer Show, and "The Little Rascals" - that was bad!

While the majority of the series was pretty damned good, there is this cinematic abortion called Star Trek V - The Final Frontier.

The next time I'm channel surfing and this happens to be on, I will stab my TV to death and pin the deed on my weird neighbor.

It would be a shorter list if it was movies from TV shows that were good.

BTW, Miami Vice kicked ass as a movie. It did so for the same reason that the series did back in the day, it didn't try to be cool. It has some serious violence and sex, serious gun play and great direction. The difference is that 'Vice" was Mann's creation and he's simply updated it. The 80's TV show was cool because it was conteporary, it was the first how to play top-40 music in the backround and it had an edge to it. It has since become camp, but that's because what was contemporary in 1984 is kitch in 2006. Drugs are still a big problem and Miami is still the center of the drug smuggling empires, this movie picks up where the show left off. It's Miami Vice today.

    That's why it worked.
