Nights With Alice Cooper

Most of you probably know about this radio show. It's a syndicated nighttime show played on alot of rock stations across the country, Stations.

Anyway, last night he played Right Now by VH. After the song ended, he mentioned something about the band being sued by someone over the name Right Now back in '93. Then he said, "Why bother suing a band like that? They're dead."

I don't know if I'll listen to his show anymore.

He's not to bright is he? They were far from dead in 1993. Today, yes, but not then. Talk about dead- he's been irrelevant for over 20 years.

His show isn't broadcast here locally anymore, but I've heard him say decent things about VH in the past. I didn't hear what he said, obviously, but maybe he meant the people suing would be "dead" (wouldn't win)? Just a thought. Like I said, I didn't hear it so I don't know.

I listen a lot in the car, and it seems every show he plays a VH song. I like Alice Cooper.

For what it's worth...

I checked the recent podcasts for Alice's shows. Last nights show wasn't posted yet. However he did mention VH on his show on 7/24 he references VH "trivia".

The first Video Van Halen made.. "one of the worst songs of all time.. pretty woman."

mentions the video was banned by MTV, etc.

I saw Alice in concert last year. Not really expecting much, but it was pretty good, actually..

Alice is funny and that was an off-the-cuff comment.

He's made fun of Sammy's hair. He says that Van Halen has some great songs but their fans never request them.

I wouldn't worry about Alice.

i love alice cooper but he actually came off as a bit of a dick in the documentary metal: a headbanger's journey.

I heard him play CVH a few weeks ago. He gave some props to Sammy but said he liked CVH better, that Sammy was a better musician but didn't like the attitude/persona of the band's music with him.

Generally, though, he was positive.

Btw, he's right, VH is dead and has been since the III tour.

It's true, that VH settled out of court with a local chicago band from the late 80's over the song Right Now.... The chorus harmony of "Right Now" those two words, were in fact taken from a song of the same name from a local chicago band from the 80's and they dd in fact try to sue VH. I dont remember their name, but only remember hearing the song from a local tape of songs put out of local bands from chicago in the id 80's and the legend goes that they sent VH a demo of their song, (remember when local bands did that?) and anyway... I cant prove this, but I swear to my death this is true, and they settled out of court. The music was not the same, just the part when they sing 'right now', that harmony part...that was ripped off by vh. Maybe this is what Alice was talking about....

Face it, That is Van HAGAR, No Halen in it from 1986-1995, and 1998-2004.

They used to have his show here but it kinda just went away one night.

What he says about VH don't really matter to me, but I did like his kewl stories.

This has to be without a doubt, the most ignorant thing I have ever read here.

The name of the band was not "Roth", "Van Roth", "Hagar", or "Van Hagar". It is "Van Halen" and always will be "Van Halen", because of the "Van Halen" brothers, Edward and Alex. Get over your "Roth was Van Halen" thing. And get rid of the mullet too while you're at it.
