I agree with you. Someone should ask Ed which lead singer wrote the best lyics for VH and Ed should say something like Sammy's used to be good before he wrote Amsterdam or Up For Breakfast.

My, my, my.. some of you guys get so worked up over what Sammy says. He's just answering a question when he's been asked. Ed's playing sucked in 2004... that's all he said. And it's just his opinion.

I totally agree with you man. I think alot of people on this board said that Eddie sucked at playing in the 04 tour. Ofcourse he's going to compliment His current band members and people on his tour with him (Like MA and EJ and VJ) Its not only polite, but nice and cool of him to do that. I mean he was doing the interview with them right next to them. If he were to say Eddie is the best, the THe Waboritas might get upset. THe Wabos are his band NOW, hes not out to impress Eddie Van Halen. He doesn't see it as neccessary that he unites with him like all of us do.

He didnt say really that Eddie Sucked or anything. Hes said numerous times that he just wants eddie to sober up and such before he tours with them again. Not that eddie sucks, or is a jerk. He still considers Eddie a freind (check LIVIN IT UP linear notes). HE tells it like it is cuase he doesnt sugar coat anything.

If you listen to the interview again, Nick had already went on to the next question about liner notes, satisfied with the Eric Johnson answer, and Sam cuts him off, and says "Let's put it like this, I ain't gonna say Eddie Van Halen! ... One of the guys that used to be one of the best guitar player's I ever played with was Eddie Van Halen, but on the last tour he didn't come up to par. Eric Johnson smoked him the other night, and Vic Johnson is smokin' him everynight. So that's it..." With emphasis on the word "Smoke"....

There was no need for that... He answered the question, the interviewer had moved on, and Sam brought it back so he could get his little criticism in on Eddie, as he often feels the need to do... Funny how people spin shit to hear what they want to hear, or not hear what they don't want to hear in this instance....

Ed already did that in 96...he ripped sam for amsterdam and spanked..after saying on MTV in 95 on the "Off Balance and on Tour" special..or maybe it was MTV's Spring Break Special that 95% of the stuff Sam comes up with fits the music perfectly the first time.....

ARMNBI, indeed. At least not with Sam! I'm just glad that Ed is out there again. Good to know he's not being a hermit, drinking all day, alone.
