a friend of mine named robert lombard worked for van halen from i believe 81 until the end as producer and director of the videos from fair warning through panama.

anyway, he's been kind enough to give me tons of great stuff from the old days.

one of the things i own is one of three kids drum set the band taped up to look like EVH's classic guitar and had midgets come on stage and play them sometime around 81 or 82.

The great part is they only used two of the sets and then destroyed them on stage. the other sat in a box for over 20 years until it was given to me.

im not looking to sell it, possibly would, but am wondering what people think it is worth. i have a picture if you wanna see it

The only time midgets ever came on VHs stage was to hand Dave his bottle of JD.

he's never mentioned the oakland show...but what i have is 4 different cameras at US Festival videos, 30 minute Jump video outtakes and 30 minute panama outtakes which things like the 30 takes of dave being arrested, dave and midgets coming out of a limo's trunk and the video of that super rare photoset where they're playing cards on a boat of some kind. all which i copied straight from the original 3 quarter inch tape.

oh yeah, i also got the first ever cardboard picture of what would become the cover of 1984.

oh there must be more...

Seriously, you're a lucky guy. I've only seen the one photo of "the card game" in Dave's book and didn't know there was video. If this is someone you still talk with, ask him about the Oakland show. For some of us, that's the Holy Grail of video footage from the band.

the picture of them playing cards on the boat , i remember it being in circus magazine . also was that somebody's bachelor party or something like that.

if you got pictures lets see them.............
