I must say this song has REALLY grown on me in the last few months for some reason. I have it on MP3 stored on my Inno, and have been listening to it daily. It is really unlike any VH song ever and granted it is a VHIII song, I do love it.

Any thoughts?

I love that song. Easily my favorite from III. My complaint about it is Gary. I think Sammy would have done a much better job singing it.

That is definately my favorite song off of III and is one of my all time favorites. It is actually the only song I could convince my wife to put on our wedding cd

I like this song, but I think it had the potential to be even better. I disagree that Sammy would sing it better. I think it was fit well for Gary's voice.

Once is far and away my favorite song on VH3....I have always thought it is a brilliant piece of music and really conveyed the direction that Ed was trying to go with that album.
It sounds like nothing VH has ever done...and for the better. It is a shame that Ed has not been able to expand on that style.....for whatever reason (they have been well documented) "Once" showed an artist at a creative crossroads.....a maturity and growth that I hope will get explored in the near future.....

but then again...WTF do I know?

Once is a really good song, IMHO. However there's no Alex or Mike on this song. It's a pure EVH/Gary collaboration. So even though it's an awesome song, it's such a departure that I can understand how some people may cringe.

I like the song too. I don't understand why people say that VHIII is the worst album they made?!?! VH hasn't made bad albums but if you have to choose which is the worst one, it's definetly OU812 not III.
