Israel/Lebanon War...
So are you for or against the current war against Hezbolla?
I have many friends in Israel and who just got back from there, and the situation in the north is very scary they have said. There are buildings that I have been by in Tzfat, one of the towns that was hit that I recognize. So this clearly is a very personal issue for me. I am all for the current assault against these terrorists residing in southern Lebanon clearly and may our kidnapped soldiers be safely returned to their families soon.

I am against war.
there's never a good reason to start/fight a war.
It's very simple.
It's just human stupidity.Be ready for my new amp "III OSIS" produced by H^3 in stores soon [that was funny in 2006]

I only said that I am against war, and there's no reason to start a war.
This means that a war should never be started.
I believe that it would be much easier to spend efforts in preserving peace than waiting and if something goes wrong then start (or respond to provocation) a war.
Mikel: i'd protect my family, you're 100% right.
But i think that there should never be wars between states. It's stupid. Everybody has the right to live and exist. And if that would be understood by everybody then there would be no wars. This means nobody should attack other countries, and countries that feel under menace should avoid war.
And please remember that the politicians star wars but they don't fight the war. It's always the common people who fight and die. Not to mention civilians.
Then there's the right to defend ourselves. But you aply that right only when somebody started a war already.
So if nobody starts a war there's no war.Last edited by batch; 07.22.06 at 05:10 PM.

So if you say you'd kill to protect your family and defend yourself, would you kill for food if you were starving? Where is your line? At what point would you rather see those you love suffer rather than do what you can to alleviate that suffering?
It's easy to say that there should be no war and that no one should start a war, especially from the comfort of a first-world country. Extend the questions I've asked you and your answers to a larger scale, and you'll begin to understand.

Hamas kidnapped an Israeli soldier. They knew what the response would be, Israel ALWAYS responds with a massive strike. They did it anyway.
Hezbollah kidnapps two Israeli soldiers. They had already seen what Israel had done to the Palestinians. They did it anyway.
Israel didn't start this latest mess, they sure as hell will end it.
Bob Dylan says it better than I can about what I feel about Israel in his song:

I hate the idea of Israel throwing out the baby (Lebanon) with the bath water (Hezbollah). However, because Lebanon cannot/will not deal with Hezbollah, I guess its for the best. It's time to throw the bums out of southern Lebanon.
It is my understanding that Hezbollah takes their marching orders from Iran. This is because the Iranian spiritual leaders are their highest authority.
I bet Iran had something to do with giving Hezbollah the green light to snatch those soldiers.
I am all for Israel going after Hezbollah and finally taking them out. I only question the destruction of Lebanese facilities. Is it true that Israel is putting it on Lebanon because they have failed to deal with Hezbollah? I wonder how much Lebanon could really do against Hezbollah (and their Syrian/Iranian sponsors).Love all. Serve all.

I'm not really for it or against it.Hamas and Hizballah started the shit now they have to live with the out come.
What I'm against is US intervention. We should show respect to the Lebanese people for the situation they helped create and stay on the side lines.Or better yet start enlisting a diplomatic fee to these nations that start this shit and try blaming it on our country.

The Lebanese government (recently independent from a terror government) is very weak and disjointed. They and their military are much too weak to chase out Hezbollah from the parts of the land they occupy. Why doesn't the international community (ahem, USA), come and help chase them out? Why should the innocent Lebanese be made to suffer in this madness? Why does Israel attack/retaliate in such a huge, overkill manner? Is it necessary? Is it more of a statement?
This is all a tragedy. All of these innocents killed with the pretext of a couple kidnapped people by a rogue terror group? I feel for those kidnapped, and the innocent Israelis who die, but honestly! Anyone who can't see the Lebanese side in this scares me. Is it a product of racism? All of the pro-Israel indoctrination the West gets? Our media coverage? I see little independent thought from the mass media, especially the 'right'.
Oh well, it's the neverending cycle. Goodbye Hezbollah pretty soon, and hello new terror groups. Keep bombing those innocent people Israel, and you'll never see peace.
