    Default Scorpions

Okay I'm digging up and dusting off an old thread here but I just watched these guys in concert this morning before I went to work and I must say, they sure hold up well musically.

My only question is the concert for the toppling of the Berlin Wall. Does anyone know if there's a dvd special for this event with all of the bands that played? I know the Scorps played there but there's only clips shown in the Winds of Change video.

I know, go to the message boards and ask, but I'm kinda surprised there's not an official Scorps thread here. They toured together during MOR and I'd love to see some pics from that time.

    Anyone?

btw - my favorite album from them has to be Animal Magnetism followed closely by Blackout.

So, do you know anything about that Berlin Wall concert?

And yes, they're definitely under-rated IMO. They've still got it.

I just saw 'em in Costa Mesa last month again. Awesome live band. Great catalogue. One of my all time faves.

They DID sorta go to shit after 'Sting....but then redeemed themselves, amazingly, with their last LP Unbreakable. Outstanding. Highly recommended. Maybe right up there with AM, Blackout, Lovedrive, and 'Sting.

I remember that the Scorps were on the Roger Water performance of The Wall at the Berlin Wall. I used to have that on video, they opened the show (In The Flesh).

Is that the only release then? I'm sorry, I guess I really need to check out their actual site. Anyone know about the MOR pics with VH and Scorps?

After watching that dvd this a.m., I did need to revive this thread b/c these guys are awesome!!! I didn't name my son after Matthias for nothing.

    Der Skorpions rule the school!!!

btw - Squalen I agree, Unbreakable is unbeatable IMO.

I was wondering if any of the left coasters went to see the Scorps this month. They only did 3 dates in the USA...2 in Calf and 1 in Vegas. I love the Scorps. Incredible band live...they are so tight and professional. They are working on a new cd to be released next year and a longer tour of the US...can't wait.

A very strange thing: System of A Down performing part of "When The Smoke Is Going Down:"

I always felt Klaus Meine had one the best voices of all time. Am I the only one here that thinks their last album "Unbreakable" is amazing? The songs are phenomenal. Full of big hooks and catchy riffs. The whole thing is vintage Scorps. Start to finish, it's a great album. To me, "Love Em' or Leave Em" and "Someday is Now" are 2 of their best songs ever. And "Blood Too Hot" sounds like it came straight out of 1984, just rockin'! I can't believe a single Scorpions fan would be disappointed with this album.

Unbreakable is a very good cd. I think they made a concentrated effort to go back to their sound of 20 years ago. Unfortunately, they got zero airplay and the last I saw, they only sold around 40,000 copies. For their new cd due in 2007, the are writing with Desmond Child, so it will definitely have a more "commercial" sound. Hopefully not too "pop' sounding.

When The Smoke is Going Down is an awesome song. China White's another good song with a killer solo.

Thanks for givin the Scorps some well-deserved love. They've been rockin for a long long time. Unfortunately the closest I ever got to them was in SF when they went to Alcatraz to shoot the video for No one Like You.

    Can't wait for the tour.

I saw them open for Judas Priest. I was one of the few that actually went for the Scorpions, and IMO I got the better show. What a great set they played. All the songs I wanted to hear. Great band, great music, it's all great bebe
