Hello to all and Coverdale

G'Day to everyone on the board.
I have finally decided to join the ranks so I can post occasionally, after lurking for the best part of a year.
This is such a great site and forum, even when I have been the target of some abuse, I have enjoyed coming here immensley.

Anyway, the prompt for me finally joining is the Coverdale topic. No, I am not going to proclaim that those sessions did take place
But, a few thoughts for you. Yes, I got screwed over in Feb with that exclusive report I ran. Again, apologies for that.
I still wonder who it was that set me up and have a few ideas.

The funny thing this week is that I got an advance copy of the David Coverdale solo album. The album is OK, but the first track, in it's twisting building intro sounds like a carbon copy of the great Eddie VH playing.
Made me laugh big time, as one suspect to who put the calls into me in Feb, was someone from Coverdale's camp, just trying to maybe get people thinking or put a thought in Eddie's head after the rumors were spreading that he would be a good singer or at least was available to an approach.

As that never happened, the solo album went on as planned with Earl Slick on guitar. Funny though that some parts of the album sound like Eddie on guitar and others sound like Coverdale/Page and a bluesy Led Zeppelin feel. That's what was desribed to me by my caller in Feb as what the fake EVH/Coverdale sessions sounded like.

So, that's my first post for ya!
Not really clearing anything up, just adding to the mystery behind my crap 'insider scoop' in February and basically saying howdy.

Welcome aboard Andrew! The new Coverdale album sounds good from what you described. That's a interesting theory about them trying to get Coverdale in VH. I think a Coverdale/Van Halen album would be great!
