DLR and VH doing Montrose's "Make It Last"
Found this on one of my bootleg discs. If somebody can tell me how to post it I will, I just find it funny that Diamond Dave was covering Sammy's tunes before he hit it big.

Make sure he gets a link, and take a vid cam to his house!
And to be fair to the Redheads, I think Dave said he'd never cover Sam, so once again, my sig appliesLast edited by abcrazy1; 07.18.06 at 10:51 PM.

I'm sure somebody here can provide a vhlinks link/text to a Sammy interview saying how Dave had covered him before 1978. I am sure I remember reading it. Whether it was in 2002 or 2004 I cannot remember.
I tried to find it with no success.

Who cares who said what as long as it's good music? I'd love to get it.

Van Halen also covered "Rock Candy" in their club days. Not only am I pretty sure it was one of the cover songs they played when I saw them in early '77 but one of the rehearsal demo bootlegs, you can hear them do a short instrumental version before they launch into an instrumental version of "On Fire."
They played both "Make It Last" and "Rock Candy" at a few '86 shows with Hagar. I was lucky enough to catch both songs at one show at the LA Forum that tour.
