Yeah I'm not a fan of Peavey gear to be honest, never had much respect for it during my band years cause it was cheap and local country pickers always had peavey shit, so I was bummed when Ed went with Peavey, but they stepped it up and come out with better things now. So I was on this Mod website and they had a sound clip of it and damn!! I want one over a 5150.. anyone know anything of these amps and speaker cabs??

again I have to say "they stepped it up" Alot of American products stepped it up in the late eighties and nineties, but I'm 37 you have to realize I come from the Japanese rules generation LOL. American made when I was young didnt account for as much as it does now. Peavey back then was CHEAP, made cheap, looked cheap and like I said no one legit actually played it,, hey Kramer was the bomb back then you gotta remember, Fender and Gibson were those almost bankrupt companies, Ibanez was small then also, ESP no one played but George Lynch. So I mean in 91 when I saw Peavey was Ed's amp my first reaction was oh god why?

Dont you guys remember the days when there was no internet so your only info on VH or anyone was to wait at the local magazine stand to read a paragraph over Ed got busted for DUI after rehab! Or the only way to get info on Dimarzio or Seymour was to write them requesting a catalog then waiting for 6 weeks to get one! But drooling over those pics of pick-ups and the new Kramer guitar pics on those brochures...

Not always. A lot of stuff, including the new Windsor amp, are made in Korea now. Peavey setup a shop over there a few years. Hence, the Wolfgang EXP guitar, and many others. The Valve King for one. That's how you explain the tube amp at cheap price.

Foreigners kill & destroy our work effort & craftsmanship any day of the week.

It comes down to SPECS. If Peavey, or ANY company, want a guitar made to certain specs, then they do it. It's as simple as that. Those are people are equally as anal as we are, but have far better work ethic and company loyalty.

I think the Valveking sounds excellent for the price and was thinking about getting one.....then I found out they're made in China. I don't like that.

If it sounds good and the price is good, what difference does it make where it's made? It has a warranty, right? Do you not use the computer/monitor/cables that you surf the interent on because they are made in China? Do you not watch the TV/DVD player in your home because they are made in China? Xbox/PS3 all made in China... your cell phone? Made in China...

That's the way things are man... I'm not crazy about it either. Soon there will be no manufacturing jobs at all in America, because it's cheaper for companies to send the work to China. But the fact of the matter is that just about every electronic piece of equipment that is sold in America, is made in China.

You aren't keeping any American's employed by not buying an amp made in China. At least Peavey is still an American company, and does employ Americans in Mississippi.

It's a global economy man, and there's nothing anyone can do about it. If you like the amp, get it and enjoy it.

No shit. I work for a finance company and the basic rap for getting people to buy international finance products (mutual funds, etc.) is look around your house and identify where everything comes from. Most of it is not made in the US.
