In The Studio w/VH - 5150 retrospective

Hey all - it's been a while since I've been to the forums, so this may be old news that's posted elsewhere. If so, my apoligies for the dup.

Tomorrow night (Sunday, 7/16) a Connecticut radio station will broadcast what they're biling as "In Studio with Van Halen." It's a 20th anniversary retrospective for the 5150 album.

The site and on-air promos are saying they will have stories from Eddie, Alex, Mike, and Sam. They don't say anything about when these stories were recorded, so it could be cut-and-paste from existing stuff.

Has anyone heard anything more about this upcoming broadcast?

Damn hard to believe it's been that long already...Should be an interesting retrospective on a great album, easily one of their best, IMO.

Can you give us an update on it? I'm bummed I missed it. I replaced my computer speakers this weekend and didn't get the new ones hooked up in time for the broadcast!

You really didn't miss much. They played some songs from 5150 and had some interviews that, from the sounds of it, were recorded back in the early 90's.
At the end the narrator (forget his name) updated the band saying that Sammy was out on the road and that the band is on hiatus. He also said that Eddie is "struggling with alcoholism."
There was a lot of talk about alcoholism. Sammy had said that his father was an alcoholic as was Jan Van Halen.

Thanks for the update. I was hoping it was a replay of a special before the album release. Those were the days. Those 1-2 hour radio specials previewing the VH albums by VH were awesome.
