IMO, it's a good album, just not the kind of music I normally get into. I'm sure I'll buy it when it comes out and maybe it will grow on me, but upon first listen, it doesn't do too much for me.

Hmm.
I gotta say, after listening to those tracks, I'm not quite sure I can buy this one. Sam I Am and Let me Take you There seem to be the standouts.
Even on a cursory listen, it can't possibly come close to Not 4 Sale, 10-13, or Marching to Mars.
Too soft, Sam my man.
Need a bit more Red Rocking and a little less Jimmy Buffett.

I really like it, but like I said in another thread I don't mind country sometimes and this album seem pretty country to me. Actually I listen to Toby Keith and Big N Rich a lot so this isn't much of a change even if it is Mr. Hagar. I really like One Sip ( it's been stuck in my head all day) Mexico, and I think Someday is just a great, great song.

I listened to it all. I liked most of the first half of the album, I like Livin' On The Coastline, One Sip and Mexico the best.
I didn't like the 2nd half much. I don't like I Love This Bar. I don't know why he had to re-record Halfway To Memphis and make it more country sounding? I hate that annoying country twang in a few songs.Right Now you're reading my post!

MAKE IT STOP!!
Oh this is awful. Just heard a few cuts and it's like Jimmy Buffett gone country...like pop country, not the cool Johnny Cash country.
Please Sam, just stop. Make your tequila, play VH songs with Mike, but please, NO MORE albums of new material.

Sorry Sam....love ya.
SIA and LMTYT are the standout tracks. I gotta go listen to Standing Hampton now. THAT, my friends, was a Hagar album.LowLifeFlatHeadScum

Wow, I can' believe how much some people hate this album and country too for that matter. Yeah it's a change but it's still Sam, it obvious that he's all about the beach vibe, Jimmy Buffet lifestyle now and thats where he's taking his music. I'm not a Jimmy Buffet fan at all, but for some reason find myself drawn to the beach music put out by country artist like Kenny Chesney and Toby Keith. Anyway to each his own I guess. I thinks its a pretty good CD, not his best but decent. Sam I Am, Mexico and Someday are all really good tunes in my opinion.
