OH My GOD! He's got the old man chin gittering. His chin can't stop shaking when he hits long notes. Its a good thing I'll be hearing a roaring guitar to hide that this saturday.

I enjoy that Dave is singing these tunes rather than what he usually does. I stand a wee-bit corrected...he can hit notes when he wants to...a friend of mine speculated that he's showing his chops to Eddie and saying "well, you ready or what?"

I thought Jamie's Cryin was entertaining, and he did a decent job of it.

He sounded great, looked very healthy and got a legends bow from Conan. Stick Roth on stage with Eddie and loud guitars and it would be magical. But don't ever expect everyone to want to be like him again. For Gods sake the guy is 50. The Eddie we all dreamt about isn't the current Ed either. Move on with your lives and accept them as who they are in 2006. Not young, dngerous, rock gods, but professional musicians who once were top of the heap.

    Dave looked and sounded good.

His muscle poses were funny afterwards when Conan announcing end of the show...he still loves the attention. lol
Bobby Cohn: Who's going to be at Waynestock?
Wayne Campbell: Um, uh...Aerosmith & Pearl Jam!
Garth Algar: Ha ha ha ha ho!
    Bobby: Who else?
    Garth: Uh, me...and...and Wayne...
    Wayne: ...and uh...VAN HALEN!!!
Garth: Wow. Van Halen. Who else?
    Bobby: Yeah, who else?
Wayne: Uh, an old man fashioning a kayak out of a log?

These guys are legends, they've got the music legacy to prove it. They deserve some respect.

People say these kind of things because when they hear the name David Lee Roth they assume that they get the guy who was the frontman of the Mighty VH in 1984 (appearance etc.). Not the guy who he is today. Same in EVH when you hear the name Eddie Van Halen which one of these images do you think?

    This one:

    Or this one:

    ???

Btw here is the video of the performance:

Nicely put... ...I just want some new VH. They don't have to set the world on fire, although I still think they have it in 'em...

I agree. I was hoping to see him with his regular band, plugged in. He can sing, but you'll noticed he was virtually stationary the whole time though...

The only problem with your friend's theory is that Ed needs to clean up, and show his chops too at this point. Or else, they shouldn't bother.

Specifically, how 'if' he a 'fuckin' joke?' You mean he's old, like Ed, Mike, al, & Hagar? Are they fucking jokes too?

It would be great if they just recorded an album or two with Dave. They wouldn't even have to be in the same building. When CVH did MWM and CGTSNM, Eddie and Dave never even saw each other. The band did the two songs and then added Dave's vocals after. I dug those two songs, and everybody I know dug those two songs. We bought the CD and rocked out.

Would they even need to tour if they made a album today? I KNOW it would sell w/o a tour to support it.
