Yeah this is getting quite ridiculous. They should just release the new album as it's ready to go and start writing and working on the follow up to this new album. I really can't answer for Nuno, Gary, Pat, Kfig. Not sure why it's delayed but bands are out there touring, promoting music so it's not COVID anymore.

Maybe there are personal or health issues or what not going on with this band. They would keep it private. If they plan on touring in 2022 it's a good idea to get the record out soon.

I just think they should release the album and work on a follow up as it's ridiculous to go as long as they have between studio albums.

Wouldn't be surprised if this is their last album.

A 15 year album cycle when you are already in your mid 50's doesn't bode well for future output.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

Yes I've been waiting for this thing for ever. It's going on 14 years since the last album.

In defense of this band Nuno toured with Rihanna for a few years, Gary did Hurtsmile, Pat Badger did some solo work. Very little creative output from Nuno something here and there. Last I heard was they were trying to find a record deal. I don't think they will get a very good one because no label is going to pay up for a band that releases a new studio album every 15 years. If they think hey were Extreme well labels will know they had two top 5 hits but just like with Saudades de Rock Open E records and Frontiers signed them. They likely want a major label deal is what I would guess. A major label would see them as a risk because of the lack of new studio albums. Labels want to make money off the artists. If they can't find a label they can always put it out themselves very easy to do online and sell and make the physical CD and Vinyl. They don't need a record label if they did it that way. The Japan market see them as a big artist but yeah going to be tough for them to get signed with a major label imo. Not impossible but labels see it as high risk based on their studio album history.

I don't know if this will be their last album but life is short if they keep this trend up between studio albums it very well might be. This is why they should just drop the ready to go album they have and work on a follow up asap. If I was a major label I would tell them we need a new album from you guys in five years along with the new one.

This is their own fault but it's Extreme they do it their way. They will eventually find a record label but it likely won't be a major label. I hope they do get signed with a major label though and they get the rights to their whole catalog. I would love Vinyl releases of Waiting For The Punchline and Saudades De Rock.

Van Halen's album output was the worst in rock music the last 20 years.

    Extreme: "Hold my beer .."

    Ugh.
"One of the reasons I left Sabbath was because Van Halen was blowing us off the stage every night. It was embarrassing." -Ozzy Osbourne

"When I first heard "Runnin' With The Devil" on the radio, I was stunned and found myself dizzy, walking through my high school hallways thinking, "What was THAT?!"
Eddie Van Halen was so innovative and kicked so much ass, and David Lee Roth was for a time indisputably the Greatest Man in America.
If aliens came down and challenged us to a Battle of the Bands to decide the fate of Planet Earth, I would feel very confident putting early Van Halen forward as our champion." -Tom Morello

"A lot of bands mature, which means they get square; they start delivering messages. Hey, you got a message, use Western Union." -DLR

Since VH3 was released in 98.

We had the best of 2004 CD with new tracks, new studio album w/DLR ADKOT. Live cd/dvd w/DLR.

Extreme has done 1 studio album SDR, two live albums, but no new tracks since 2008's SDR and their guitarist seems healthy.

    Extreme wins.

I think if they plan on releasing the album soon and find a label a digital release in December would be ideal. Physical release set for early 2022 sometime. They have been quiet as of late so I wonder if they are adding or changing stuff to the album. They said it was done but maybe they are changing some things that could explain why it's not out yet.

I just hope they aren't still sitting on a finished ready to be released album.

This article dates back to March 2021 - https://search.blabbermouth.net/news...ne-for-a-year/

    Some notes:
Can easily throw the new record on iTunes Music, Spotify but won't
It's been done for awhile now
    Shopping for a label
Doesn't want to release the album yet because they want to tour for it. Again brings up the pandemic as the reason.

All this said in March 2021. Bands are touring again. They should be able to tour in 2022. People getting vaccinated, less mask mandates.

Not sure what the mindset of this band is but obviously they will put it out when they want and feel comfortable doing so.

Which obviously sucks for the fans.

problem is, as the fanbase ages, less people will care if the album ever comes out. Only the "extreme" Extreme fans will care. This isn't Van Halen or Pink Floyd we're talking about here.

Yeah I agree. Extreme thinks everyone gives a shit but the reality is only the real Extreme fans care. The casual ones will and new ones will come check it out. They should just release what they have and work on a follow up album already.

They could be a bigger act if they just put out new albums every 3 or 4 years. Once every 15 years is insane and they shouldn't be shocked if no one knows who they are.

In a way it's a waste of talent because all their albums are unique and brilliant in their own right. This band should have over 10 studio albums out by now not what will make 6 studio albums with the new one if it ever comes out.

Which is why I think it's important for them to put the new stuff out and work on a follow up asap.

They will get a record deal but not likely with a major label as they would be high risk because their last studio album came out in 2008 and the one before it 1995. Having a platinum album and two top 5 hits helps though.

Last I heard it's done (their 6th studio album) and the band is trying to find a good record deal and they have delayed/shelved it due to on going pandemic. It doesn't seem to be stopping other artists from doing so but Nuno said they are a touring band and will only put new stuff out if they can tour for it. IMO it doesn't matter because they toured for Pornograffitti it's anniversary etc so the new album will still be new whenever they want to tour for it. They should just release the new stuff and work on a followup album. Nuno is also CEO of Atlantis Entertainment so who knows what's going on with that.

They definitely can't pull that shit again on their fans because next time they will have to perform the show in possibly wheel chairs or walkers depending on their health and physical condition. Gary will be 75. Nuno will be 70. 70's isn't that old yet but they definitely won't be young anymore. However I hope this band has a very active next decade because it will help define their career musically. One album isn't going to be enough.

I am pretty much ready to put a band pic of Extreme on a milk carton at this point.
