Those numbers are pretty meaningless in the streaming era. Rihannas camp claims sales of 250 million, riaa has certified 10 million. As a comp , Whitney Houston sold 18+ of just the Bodyguard soundtrack in America alone.

I got the info from Billboard magazine last year at some point talking about Rihanna's global appeal in Asia, Africa and South America.

The whole industry is so corrupt that exact realities are impossible to know unless your sitting in the C-Suite of one of the Majors.

The point I am trying to make is Rihanna is HUGE and Nuno is getting great publicity from his connection to her Live shows.

It's a good paying gig for him, I'm sure. She'll announce a tour soon, and I imagine he'll be part of that even though he didn't sound like wanted it to be a repeat gig.

When you release a new album every 14 years no one is going to know who the fuck you are. When he's up there on stage with her some people probably go oh yeah that More Than Words guy.

For any artist exposure of some kind helps to get recognized. Outside of Extreme and Van Halen fans and some guitar nerds no one probably knows Nuno's music for anything other than that hit. Sad but true.

If they want some exposure release the new album and than release another one in less than 14 years, lol.

It got him that pad in LA and helps pay the bills, I can't blame him. Just don't forget about Extreme and any music you may want to release.

Agreed. Those 250 million are by far the most in the US for any act ever. That's suspect.

The only way somebody is going to notice Nuno is if its us geeks, some woman around 50 who will go "hey I remember him" or somebody who likes his looks. He is backup musician. Maybe on some Rihanna boards some people are "who's that exotic lookkng dish up there with the painted finger nails?" That's it.

Sorry those Rihanna numbers to me are very suspect. I can't see anybody being bigger than Taylor outside of Beyonce. Taylor broke Ticketmaster. Plus if you think about it, if given the choice of Tyalor or Rihanna for the Super Bowl, who do you think the NFL would pick 10 times out of 10? Not saying Rihanna isn't popular but she isn't Taylor popular at least here and that's what the NFL cares about. Who is going to be watching TV during halftime in the United States. They don't care about Indonesia or Ghanna.

It will be interesting to see how much use she makes of Nuno at the halftime show. He is great live and if I was her I would put him to work he can put on a show and get the crowd going.

The casual music fan thinks its hysterical that the more than words guy plays guitar for Rhianna.
As a Nuno fan, I think its a great way to get paid by playing music but not have to worry about f'ing up your own solos that every fan scrutinizes under a microscope on youtube.

Their eyes will be on Rihanna's ass/body/breasts not Nuno's solos. Easy gig for him. No one would care if he screws up because of the sexy lady on stage.

It seemed like she was lip syncing most of the time and at the end of the performance her band walks out and performs. Nuno can be seen but he isn't doing much with the 6 string. Any guitar player would have been fine for that kind of performance she did not need to waste a guitar gods talent like Nuno. I guess he wanted to do it though. I didn't catch if that was his red N4 or not he's not seen that much it was hard to make out. It was nothing memorable unless you are a die hard Rihanna fan. Her performance was good for being pregnant.
