I don't think he practiced that stuff. He's saying only Nuno did it - so this means he never heard Paul Gilbert's stuff, or Marty Friedman. Not to mention guys like Tony McAlpine. But even before those guys, Steve Morse was a monster picker, a pure alternate picking dude. Nuno was part of that trend, he didn't limit himself just to Eddie, he studied the guys who focused on the right hand too.

All this being said, there's a big different between Eddie and Nuno (and the other guys). Eddie did guitar instrumentals as pieces of music. Like Bach writing a menuet or Mozart writing the fantasy in D. People would sing the tremelo picking part of Eruption when you went to a VH show, or the tapped harmonics at the beginning of Spanish Fly. Nuno's instrumentals were always about showcasing his technique. "I want to show other guitar players where I'm at." Eddie used technique as a tool to create music. He didn't create music to showcase technique.
Good points and I agree about Ed but what limited solo Nuno instrumentals there are (Midnight Express, FOTWB solo, end of Rock A Bye,Bye, guitar world b-side solo) I think his best is Midnight Express. It showcases his technique but he also adds his own persona on guitar to it. It would be interesting to hear an all solo instrumental album from Nuno one day. I think he is capable of pulling it off.

If only Bobbie Brown (Warrant Cherry Pie fame) in her heyday reviewed music videos on Youtube in 4K. I wish.

I definitely don't mind Sophie Lloyds videos. Beautiful babe and amazingly talented.

Women have gotten better at guitar playing. Orianthi and Nita Strauss are my favorites. Both played with Alice Cooper. I was angry at Nita for leaving Alice Cooper for Demi Lovato, but she just announced she is returning to Alice's band. So she is forgiven!

Nuno had a instrumental on the "Guitar's That Rule The World." cd Compilation called "Bumble bee (Crash Landing)". Its a slower piece and you can hear his innner "Brian May" coming out.

He has another instrumental on a different Compilation Cd from one of the Guitar mags but I cant remember the name of the song or the CD. I have it hear somewhere though...

Edit.... Just found the other song.....

Too Much of a Good Thing (Where's the Hook). Its got that fast HFT boogie to it. EVH would of loved this I reckon... Great tapping section in it too...

This guy has the best cover that I have seen so far. He is obviously a huge Extreme/Nuno fan. He has jammed with Nuno, Vai and a few others. Great cover, IMO!!

Yeah he came the closest to nailing Nuno's solo. He also has the same guitar/amps that Nuno uses. I like that Pornographitti guitar he has on his wall in the background. He must be a super fan of Nuno & Extreme!

I thought the same thing. Check out his YT channel. It is very cool that he has jammed with Nuno, Vai etc. I never heard of this guy before, but I can tell he knows how to play and jam with the greats.

That Washburn black Pornograffitti guitar I have a serious boner for always wanted that. It's fucking beautiful. I think it was limited. I would hang that up as a decorative piece and play it a little but not for $4k (average used price). However in person if I ever found it I would blow my wallet up for it most likely.

That guy can play. The first thing I noticed though was he had that guitar and I started drooling over it.

An old sold Reverb listing with pics of it:

Jennifer Batten and the Great Kat were the two that I feel never got their due in the world of female guitar phenomenons. I guess Jennifer at least got paid because she a touring guitarist for Michael Jackson, but she really paved the way for the female shredder and was never truly recognized for it.

Julliard grad Katherine Thomas aka "The Great Kat" also went largely unnoticed. She was like a female Yngwie, and she recorded a lot of heavy/thrash interpretations of many classical pieces. I think in her case she just didn't get the marketing/branding right.

Just listened to a interview with Nuno and he said 3 more singles and videos will be released very soon.

He also mentioned that the day EVH visited his house while he was recording a solo for the new album was the solo on Rise. He said Ed was going to come back and listen to the entire album when it was finished but that didnt happen and he regrets not letting him hear what they had...

It would not surprise me if the next videos/singles from "Six" falls on 4/1 and than 5/1 and 6/1. That's a good strategy to promote the new album. This is the Youtube days the MTV days are long gone. People want content fed to them every month which is good for any artist to stay relevant. I definitely hope the band took a hint that "Rise" was well received and has 1 million views to release more content on their channel to stay relevant.
