I don't begrudge him for earning money by playing with Rihanna, but there is no reason he can't do that and also do more musically creative and satisfying projects and record and release his own music with Extreme or solo. I don't know what his issues or holdup is with his own music. Even after he originally left Extreme he was busy creating and releasing his own music. Maybe he just does not care anymore. I'd like to think if I was in his shoes, and had earned big money from touring with Rhianna, that it would then give me the freedom to write, record, and release my own music with no concerns for whether it makes me a lot of money or does not.

Also, wasn't it at around this time last year where he said he had all this new music ready, and that he was putting out a solo record as well as forming a new rock band to record and tour behind another record? That was weird because there was no mention of the Extreme record that had already been completed, leading us to the conclusion that Extreme was disbanded again. Then months later he and the rest of Extreme mention they finally have a new record deal and that we should hear a new song by the end of 2022 with an album release sometime in the earlier part of 2023?

It's been crickets since that time.

He did mention all that on some platform, then zip, zero, nada on all of it. We might get something from VH before him

If they had a real record deal, that Label would have announced it right away.

I haven't heard a thing anywhere.

It's very possible they can't find any reasonable deal that pays/promotes.

That's true. You would figure whatever company did sign them would issue at least a press release announcing the signing. Even when Wolf signed his record deal there was a public press release put out by the company that signed him, even it was still a year away from the album actually being released.

Something is not right in Extreme/Nuno land I think.

You are right it was about this time last year Nuno posted on instagram a solo record was coming and another project he was trying to find musicians for. Nothing happened with that. It also fueled that Extreme was broken up again. Extreme went in the summer and played some live shows, did some interviews and said they new album was going to be released soon and they had a record deal. Nothing but crickets with that to and as you all know the album is finished.

Good points about a press release if they had a record deal. It's possible they don't have a record deal and that's why the new album hasn't come out. I stated this before with the bands odd release habits of new studio albums every decade and a half it might be the reason why no record label is going to give them the record deal they want. Still why lie about a record deal in interviews it's not going to help you get a record deal.

Their back catalog of albums the Geary/Mangini stuff is with A&M/Universal and the Kfig album Frontiers/Open E Records. I wonder if something is going on with their back catalogue. I know their masters with A&M/Universal were destroyed years ago in the Universal Music Studios fire around 2008 might be a reason why we never got remastered versions of their four studio albums with A&M. Maybe they want to get signed with Universal since their four studio albums all are with the label except SDR.

Also the Japanese market they would have no trouble releasing the new album in Japan. All of their studios albums Japan usually released it first. SDR in 2008 was released through Victor Records in Japan which was part of the Universal Music Group. Surely another label in Japan with Universal Music Group would pick them up. So if they can't find a record deal in USA than just release it in Japan. It's not hard these days to get the import CD/Vinyl. Amazon usually gets them quick.

I agree though something is not right in Extreme/Nuno land because like I said they would have no trouble putting the new album out in Japan.

I remember hanging out with Nuno and his then wife Suzie at Michael Anthony's cinco de Mayo party back in 2002. already 20 years ago!

Cool. Suze is a beautiful woman and such a talented, interesting person. Nuno was lucky to marry her to bad it didn't last divorce happens. His daughter Bebe has alot of Nuno's looks in her.

Yeah Taylor Swifts guitarist is an Eskimo Brother of one of my good friends. LIved next town over and he stole his girlfriend. We don't know Nuno's finances. I am sure when he had a multi-year steady gig with Rihanna, he likely used said money to pay off debt or maybe do some things. I know its easy to say "release the album" but there are three other guys in the band and maybe they don't want to release it without a tour and Nuno's 100% focus.

Nuno has some EVH in him. The good and bad. He is particular and he has to sign off on everything. I assume for whatever reason, he simply doesn't want to put the album out. Why? Not sure but if artists would do what us fans want, we would have had a few more VH albums, some live stuff and maybe the Oakland show. Right now Wolfgang would be going through the archives to put out a EVH unrelease riffs

Well except that during his hiatus, he generally does projects like Dramagods, Population #1 and all the other stuff. We all wish Ed had released stuff during the years of silence.

I think his kids were raised in Australia by Suze for the most part. When there's the pacific ocean standing between the parents, you can't do joint custody.

Nuno's finances or anyone in the band is really none of our fucking business, lol. Still yeah for whatever reason they don't want to put the album out but when they promise countless times the album is coming, it will be released soon big difference between promising it and not wanting to put it out. If you don't want to release the album just be honest don't fucking tease the fans.

Gary in interviews calling the new album Pornograffitti 2 and saying it's some of Nuno and his best work. Yeah I want to hear the fucking thing now. It must be a pretty good album because they are guarding it quite well.

What makes the most sense here is they don't have a record deal or they don't want to release it yet. It's one or the other.
