Yeah I heard that and like the idea of a whole 2 hour long Van Halen tribute show from them. It's not like people wouldn't be getting their moneys worth Gary was in Van Halen albeit very briefly. I would like to hear tons of stuff from VH3 like Without You, Fire In The Hole, A Year To The Day, One I Want, Dirty Water Dog, From Afar and Nuno and Gary doing their own versions of Joesphina and How Many Say I. Would be amazing. Than of course the usual classic VH stuff for the rest of the set. Obviously though doing more VH3 songs makes the most sense if they were to do this because of Gary. No different if DLR or Sammy did a VH tribute show it would have more of their own material with the band involved.

Always wanted to hear Extreme perform Without You which is one of Gary's best songs of his short VH tenure.

Just wanted to chime in and say yeah I'd travel to go to one of these shows if Extreme brought it on tour.

I would love to see Extreme do VH. About the only band IMO that could do it justice. Heck let Alex play drums and call it "An eveninig with Alex Van Halen"

I like it. My only concern is Extreme would try to make it sound too funky.

I'd love to hear Dirty Water Dog and From Afar since they hardly ever played DWD and never played FA (I saw "Once" with TOJ and supposedly one time they played FA but there's no bootlegs of it that I've seen). And fuck it, while we're at it and even though it's a low-level VH song I'd like to hear "Ballot or the Bullet," too. Be nice to hear "One I Want" again, that's for sure. Got to hear Hurtsmile play "Without You" but I sure as shit would love to hear it again also. That song's Top 15 VH for me.

Saw them 5 times that tour and was pretty much the same setlist for all of them. Never got to see to DWD, "I'm the One," or "Dreams," my all-time favorite song. But Gar said those were his favorites so I'm sure they'd be at the top of the list hopefully. He was going to do "5150" and some other different cool ones on the follow-up tour that never happened, too. That would be an awesome song for them to do.

I want to hear the follow up stuff to VHIII. It's a shame as I recall them saying it was near final - and then the plug got pulled....so you have near complete music w/ the greatest band on earth....finish / master it and release it...even w/ a limited distribution - it'd still generate more $ than doing nothing with it.
Winners come and go; legends are forever.

It definitely sounds like there are a few finished studio tracks. IMO Alex should let Nuno and Gary work on it if he and Wolf don't want to. finish it and master it. Gary is also good friends with Mike so he could get involved. It would be fun for all involved. Release is digitally it's not that hard. I like the idea of doing it that way. Even if Gary's tenure with Van Halen was short people would still buy this and want to hear some unreleased Van Halen. It would generate lots of buzz and make them some money. Still this is about celebrating Ed's artistry and life. If this stuff never comes out it's obviously being buried by Alex.

So "Don't Leave Me Alone" was cut from the CD version of III Sides To Every Story but on both the Vinyl, Tape and DCC versions of the album. With the song the album clocks in at 81 minutes and 51 seconds. I know Nuno said taking that song off the CD version felt like cutting his right arm off. However pretty sure the album though could have been somewhat edited to make space for that song. For instance the opening of "Warheads" which I love but it could have been trimmed. The ending of "Rest In Peace" could have been trimmed. The solo for Cupid's Dead could have been trimmed. The pause in "Stop The World" after the solo could have been trimmed. The long piano intro to "Who Cares?" could have been trimmed. There was indeed a way to fit the song on the CD if the band wanted to edit it. Of course I like the album unedited and it is on other versions but they could have found a way to add it to the CD as sort of an edited version vs unedited. Could have sold even more copies of III Sides. So to fit that song on the CD the band would have had to trim the album by two minutes more or less. So if you could have just cut 50 seconds off of say 4 select tracks than you can fit "Don't Leave Me Alone" on the CD version.

I forgot there was an early pressing in Japan when the album came out that came with a 3 inch CD as a bonus w/Don't Leave Me Alone on it. I have it. Still wasn't actually on the CD but it's the closest to it.

IMO they should have just made the album a double CD and they could have put some extra songs on both Yours and Mine side. The third side The Truth deserves a CD all by itself since it's some of the bands best work musically.

That album for me is overproduced. I appreciate it for what it is and they did swing for the fences. They could have trimmed some fat.

Definitely but the more I think about it this album should have been a double album for CD. I would love to have the third side The Truth in all it's glory on one CD. The band likely didn't want to put the third side on another disc.

If they ever do a SE of this on CD again I like the idea of putting each side on it's own CD that way you will truly have 3 Sides. It's way cheaper to do that today than in 1992. A&M though since this album only went gold likely will never be interested in doing a SE of this album. It wasn't as big of a hit as Pornograffitti and A&M already did a SE CD with remixes, b-sides of Pornograffitti.

I know years ago Extreme's masters were destroyed in a fire along with other artists at a Universal lot in Cali. Not sure if the band has other masters of the album or not but III Sides and WFTP really do need remasters with some b-sides, unreleased stuff. WFTP and SDR need Vinyl releases badly.

Yes they should have done three albums. Go the Full Smashing Pumpkins. However I get why they did it. They had a successful album and were given leeway but not that much leeway.

Part of my problem with the album is Nuno's tone. Just squashed and sterile. Again I know he was going for a tone maybe more similar to Brian May but to be honest, never thought Brian had great tone. Obviously people do but just not my cup of tea

Thanks to the success of More Than Words and Hole Hearted the band was allowed to do what they wanted to do with the album. The label heard some hits with Tragic Comic, Rest In Peace, Stop The World and they probably said we don't care what else you put on it.
