B-52 2x12

I fell in love when I played the floor demo at Guitar Center. So much so that I sold my Marshall on ebay. The B-52 has the best OD warmth I've ever heard and waaay more depth on the clean channel.

BUT... I get the thing home and it doesn't work! Power, but no sound. Probably a speaker fuse, and that could mean a bigger problem. GC takes it back and a week later they get me a new one. Get it home AND THE SAME F*&^IN THING!!!!!! Power, but no sound! GC says they'll get me a 3rd one. That's 3 amps in 8 days and I have yet to play it at home.

The reviews I read said they're all pleased with it. But, obviously, I'm worried about reliability... my Marshall never let me down in 12 years. Anyone else play a B-52? What do ya think?....

I liked the b-52 the first time I played it at a semi-low volume in Guitar Center. I went ahead and bought it, took it home, and plugged it in. The more I played it, the less I liked it, so I took it back. Sometimes it takes a little playing time for me to decide whether or not I actually like something.

Just a quick update... Guitar Center calls me to tell me amp #3 is in and ready to be picked up... an hour later they call back to say they decided to road test it in the store to make sure it was o.k.... and get this.... #3 died while they were playing it!!!! smoke and all!!

I'M DONE WITH B-52. Getting something else....

Shitty situation if you liked the amp. My 5150 2x12 fucked up twice when I brought it home from the store, but they eventually got it right on try number three. Sorry third time wasn't the charm for you. Good luck finding another amp.
