Default Television Shows that Never Got Enough Respect

What would be, in your opinion, some TV shows that never got respect or fair credit that they deserved? I know there are many shows out there that people watch that either many don't know about or haven't really watched, based on either reviews of ratings. Name as many shows as you'd like.

The #1 for me is Whose Line is it Anyway? LOVE the show, funny as hell. When my dad was in improv it helped me realize how talented the actors are. Definitely way too underrated, at least IMHO. No one really watched it on ABC, and that's why it was canned. Same with the British version, which is funnier than the US. People don't even know a UK version existed!

So, please share your favorites that don't seem to be respected enough amongst viewers, whether they be from America or around the world
In and out. I didn't even make that pun on purpose.

Greatest underrated TV show of all time.

    The Once and Future King.

    No substitutes allowed.

I know a dozen dudes in these forums who had the action figure with the removable bionic forearm parts and the lookthrough eye. Me included.

    Other worthy notes:

Thundarr the Barbarian. How can you not like a 70's Saturday morning apocalyptic cartoon?

Zoom. You know what I'm talkin' about.

    Hardcastle and McCormick.

    Simon and Simon.

Hart to Hart. Stephanie Powers, yum.

    Newhart (best series finale ever)

    Um...I'm getting old.

    Sigh.

    Currently underrated?

Scrubs. Funniest sitcom in the last five years.
Rescue Me. Denis Leary's the shit.

I'm with you on that one VS! If I could I'd buy the whole series just to watch it again. I not only had the action figure, I had the space ship that converted into a bionics lab and I had a set of 4 different bionic arms that you could change on him that gave him different abilities for various "missions". Yep, back in the day Steve Austin was the shit!!

The Flash (The best superhero T.V. series ever to me, thankfully I got it all on DVD now)

    The Untouchables T.V. series

Dark Angel ( Jessica Alba became famous from this show, James Cameron directs it)

Rock Star INXS and now Supernova (Much much better than American Idol!)

Relic Hunter (it's like Indiana Jones with a sexy asian babe (Tia Carrere)

Silver Surfer (A great animated series in the late 90's, it didn't last more than a season though)

Oh dude, the minute it comes out on DVD, it's all mine. Steve Austin was indeed the shit.

WLIIA was HUGE over here about 10-15 years ago. It launched a lot of careers. Funnily, there were always at least one or two American comedians on it. Tony Slattery and John Sessions were always the real stars, though. The US version was shown over here and I watched a couple but it never seemed to gel properly.

The King Of Queens is pretty much the only show I watch on purpose these days.

All this "reality" tv bullshit is unwatchable IMO.

Going back to Old school TV, there were so many great shows I can't even begin to list them. I used to love The Honeymooners (hmmm go figure, King Of Queens is a modern day Honeymooners really) As a kid I loved all the action shows like A-Team and Fall Guy and The Dukes, shit like that.

Six Million Dollar Man? I can't say I've ever seen a single episode of that. The toy was cool as hell though

    YUP,
    Hardcastle and McKormick was good.
    Simon and Simon was excellent.
A local station has it on during the mid afternoon.
I try to catch it when I'm not at work.

I also think The Greatest American Hero is overlooked.
Even though it was cheesy superhero stuff, the premise was good.

I liked Arrested Development. I bought Season 1 on DVD, but barely could find it on TV after that. Sadly, I didn't watch it, but then, neither did anyone else. I'll get the rest on DVD tho!

WLIIA is a GREAT show! I used to watch the Brit version all the time on Comedy Central. Lots of great actors on there. I was excited when they started up the one on ABC, but it wasn't the same. The best part about the American version was when Drew was laughing so hard he couldn't speak. The Richard Simmons episode is the funniest, for sure. Hard to top that one.

My brother had a Six-Million Dollar Man beach towel.

    Homicide: Life on the Street.

Andre Braugher (sp?) is the best actor on television I've seen. I can see why his character had a stroke (so intense).

That's the most underrated I think. Writing was especially good the first 4 years.

On another note, I always liked Hunter. Maybe it was Stephanie Kramer or the fact it was centered around L.A. and I was in the boring midwest. Fred Dryer is a bad ass.

Ooh, yeah! Homicide was a great show! I also liked... what was it called... Beantown or something? It was a cop drama that showed the events from everyone's different perspectives. I think it went backwards, too. Had what's his face in it... Walberg... not Marky Mark... Oh well. You know who I mean. New Kids On the Block boy. He's a good actor!
