Bob Seger
Finally!
Two things you have to listen to if you've never done it. One is my show...the other is Jonboy and Billy in the mornings (syndicated). Anyone who listens to my show knows that there are just a number of things I've been waiting for musically to complete my list.
A Pink Floyd Reunion, Whether I'm there or not. DONE!
Any Van Halen Reunion I could get to. DONE!
Queen. Live. In any fashion. DONE!!
Bob Seger. Live - STILL WAITING!
If anyone listens to "Jonboy and Billy" in the morning radio scene, you know their guest this morning was none other, than Bob Seger, and FINALLY...we get the confirmation.
YES. The new album will be out September 12. It's called "Face The Promise" and Seger promises it's in the vein of the classic "Silver Bullet Band" Style. It's done with Studio Musicians, not the SBB...but...the news that got me damn near to pull over and do a fuckin cartwheel on the side of I-75 this morning....YES. He's going to TRY putting the Silver Bullet Band Back together. And YES, if he can make that work...his intent, is to take it on the road.
I dunno about you guys, but if that happens, I'm stoked. And There!
HE SOUNDS GOOD!

john boy and billy are great! the live down the road from me. see john boy at the bars a whole lot.VERY FRIENDLY AND APPROACHABLE! i don't listen to them anymore (too many commercials) and i have sirius. i can picture them being on the blue collar comedy channel on sirius, when their contract is up.
i heard about seeger a couple of weeks ago(also on sirius) and he is going to tour but will be a very limited amount of dates,i think he said 20.i have never seen him either and would jump at the chance to see him. in my opinion a true legend!

well if he said that, then he's mixing up what storie's he's telling, because I heard him this morning say it myself.....that he's not sure about the tour...but he'd like to try...and then this file right here (just found it) also says it's a possibility.....but says nothing of the dates or length, but yeah, I'd jump at that chance too!

Oh man I've been waiting to hear news like this about Bob Seger since he last toured and at that time I thought oh well I'll see him on the next one.
That next one never came and I hope to God he gives it one last shot and gives the fans one last dose of the old Seger gems!
Do it Bob!
Btw, does anyone have the clip to "Wait For Me"? The links do not work for me.
Thanks!Last edited by Bono Vox; 07.05.06 at 11:20 PM.

I heard him on Drew and Mike last week and he said he will be getting together with the band in about three weeks, they will practice for a few weeks, and as long as all goes well with the band, IE they sound good and have no problem pulling it off, then they will go on tour. He said he plans on only about 30-35 dates....I would imagine he will be doing 3,4, maybe even five nights here in MI. Seger is great, i've never seen him in concert, so I most certainly will be there. The new single sounds great.

Checked out the clip for the new single at bobseger.com - sounds like classic stuff. Wish I had the money to upgrade my Seger albums to CD...

Bob Seger is the Man!!!
Right as I type this, I am listening to "Live Bullet" and marveling at it. I really like the new song, so I am anxiously anticipating hearing the new album. It was really wonderful that he was inducted into the Hall of Fame, even though he never received as much acclaim as other singer/songwriters of his generation. You know when an artist is good when it takes at least 3 volumes of Greatest Hits to cover all the songs that should be denoted as great, and that is certainly the case with Bob Seger. Probably one of the best singers of rock n' roll, and still doing alright vocally.
I got “Bedlam In Belgium” instead of “You Shook Me All Night Long”
For those about to rock...AC/DC
