DLR to Perform at Greater Gulf State Fair Grounds

I heard it yesterday on the radio heading home from Pensacola, David Lee Roth to perform at the Greater Gulf State Fair Grounds in Mobile Al. Announcer went on to say he will be doing a 96% Van Halen set list, on the night of Aug 5, for only 15 bucks a head.

"Why is Dave selling his show based on all Van Halen songs? He can't do that, no, that's just not right. Why would someone who sang in Van Halen ever do that? Geez, his career must be dead and he's relying on his past with Eddie to make a buck. He's all about the money. He'd be less than Billy Squier, since he was nothing before Van Halen, if he had never been in Van Halen."

Ok, enough with the sarcasm. Actually I believe none of that. That was just for the people who were all upset at Hagar for doing the "Other Half".

I wish Dave would come somewhere close to me, but I also wish he'd have more pride in his solo work and incorporate some of those songs into his set list. As long as none of the show is bluegrass.

If Sammy was gonna be doin CVH is would seem a tad hypocritical. I was hopin MA would be ballsy enough to play some other CVH tunes.

Yeah, got my tickets. I'll be the early bird dude on front row with a sharpie and DLR band CD jacket cover. Unfortunately I dont think Dave is fan friendly in that regard to give autographs during the show.

Catdaddy, did you also have the Crazy From The Heat book? And were you also with your wife and young son? If so, my daughter and I were the ones who moved down after that asshole put the squeeze on you. I thought it was a killer show. My daughter is still awe struck.

Rage, yep that was me. Awesome, awesome show. My wife, son, and I all had a blast. Dave was right on. Thanks for helping hold off the drunks. We stuck around after the show near his bus, but security said that he wasnt coming out for anyone. Not even the VIP ticketholders got to meet and greet. Oh, well, that's his perogative. I think I will see Dave again when he comes to Marksvill, La on Oct 21. Alot closer drive for me from Nth La.
