sammy ready to make friends with dave?

World Entertainment News Network is reporting that Sammy Hagar is prepared to forgive and forget his spat with fellow former VAN HALEN frontman David Lee Roth, after watching Roth grow old gracefully.

Hagar and Roth's friendship was tested when they toured together a few years back and Sammy grew tired of Diamond Dave's outrageous costumes and his apparent desperation to cling onto his youth.

The tour ended on a sour note as handlers had to keep the two rockers apart backstage, but now Hagar insists he has no animosity towards Roth.

He says, "I'm fine with Dave. I like Dave better now than I did in the old days.

"After we did the tour together, he and I got into a little spiff (sic); they had to put up a wall between us every night — we couldn't see each other, he had to have left the building when I came in and all this kinda stuff.

"But after seeing what he's doing recently he looks like he's having a pretty good time. At least he's not out there dressing up the way he was on my shows... Now he's got his hair looking a little more natural.

"He was the epitome of that era (1980s), I think... and when he started getting older and still trying to look like he was 24 and act like that, I mean it looked really bad. It was rough."

Again, it was part of an interview. Someone asked him a question, he answered. If someone asks Dave a question about Sammy, he answers. The interview process is really simple, someone asks a question, the other person answers it. If the person doing the interview would get over it, I guess Sammy would move on and get over it as well.

Geez. You people act like Sammy is calling the media and holding "I'm here to talk about Dave and Eddie" press conferences. He's on tour and being interviewed, of course Van Halen is going to come up in the course of an interview. It'll happen on Dave's tour too. Should Dave get over it when he talks about a Classic VH reunion being inevitable for the past 5 years? He answers the questions he's asked as well.

Sammy still makes music and tours, while DLR is still singing music at the least 20 years old from a band he hasn't been a member of since '84. If you want to bash Sammy just realize what it is you think is better. I am not saying Sammy is better than DLR, or vice versa, but they are completely different and VH was completely different.

I hope for this day....maybe not the Armageddon part....lol
I wish we could the Sam vs Dave thing to bed....I hate it...I cant act blameless...I get sucked into it....and then I regret the time and energy wasted....
These two were both part of two seperate eras of my favorite band....two very successful parts.....They both have their merits, both have drawbacks.
I think Sam is a very cool guy and I would love to have his life....making music and being rich sound great to me.....
Dave was the king of his era....and was an amazing part of an amazing band
I personally am vowing not to bash Dave anymore....I will defend Sammy if needed, but not at the expense of Dave. We can all be more positive about this if we try
I am also hoping and praying that Ed gets better and becomes the guitarist and person he once was...instead of the shell he seems to be now...Get help Ed....We love ya man....
I personally will be thrilled if we get anymore new music with either one of these guys....
I almost died in a car wreck a few years back...and more and more...I'm realizing that life is much much too short for all this cheap pointless and petty arguing that goes on about Sam and Dave....and about stupid crap in general.

World Entertainment News Network is reporting that Sammy Hagar fears a VAN HALEN reunion will never happen because former bandmate Eddie Van Halen needs "an overhaul".

Hagar singer still tours with former VAN HALEN bandmate Michael Anthony and speaks regularly to Alex Van Halen, but he rarely talks to guitarist Eddie — and fears he never will.

But he's always hoping his former bandmate sees sense and reforms VAN HALEN: "If Eddie ever wants to be friends again, not just business... I would hope VAN HALEN does a reunion again sometime. It's too great of a band, the fans deserve it. But he needs an overhaul."

Hagar, who will release a new album, "Livin' It Up", in late July, says owes his vast fortune as a tequila tycoon to his frustrated wife, who insisted he cut back on his touring when he became a family man.

The rocker is the brains behind premium tequila brand Cabo Wabo and he insists he'd still be permanently on the road if his wife hadn't insisted he find something else to occupy his time.

He says, "As you get older, you get bored. I can't tour, like, 150 shows a year like I used to. I could but my wife would kill me and my kids wouldn't know me when I came home.

"So you do 40 shows a year and you get all this time off and all this extra money, so you go, 'I think I'll do this, I think I'll do that,' and every now and then you get lucky.

"I got lucky with the tequila. It was just a whim eight years ago."

Hagar accepts he can't eat in America's finer dining establishments because he refuses to dress up to sit at a restaurant table.

The party-loving rocker, famous for his beach attire, admits he'd rather eat at family diners than have to face up to snooty restaurant staff.

He says, "I can't do it any more... Everyone tells me, 'Oh, you can't go to this place.' I like high-end food and high-end tequila and high-end wine and they say, 'Oh no, Mr Hagar, you can't come in here like this.' "I go, 'Well then, I'll just go down the street and eat where I can get in,' because I can't get dressed (for dinner). It's hard."
