I think they opened up quite a few dates early in the tour (late Jan. thru April). All I know about the band now is that Steve Plunkett (vocals)went on to produce music for some pretty sucsseful TV shows .
You may think I`m being mean but I`m really just being sarcastic

Well, I saw Autograph open for the MIGHTY Van Halen back in '84.
The show was in April that year.
They had a few good tunes (most notibly Turn Up the Radio), but that's about it.

Dave was the power behind that hit. He got Autograph the deal after one of the band members caught Dave jogging in L.A. It's a FACT!

Dave was friends with their drummer Keni Richards. MA sang back up on Blonds in Black Cars. I think they had one album of note after Sign In Please. The video for the song Loud N Clear featured Ozzy and Vince Neil sitting in the front row at their "exclusive" soundcheck. Anyone else remember that video?

I actually bought a used copy of Loud and Clear last week. They had three albums: Sign In Please, That's the stuff (mike sang on this one), and Loud and Clear, before they broke up in 1988. They actually released one more in 1997 full of unreleased tracks.

Top Jimmy here, with a little more info...
Afetr "Turn Up.." came out, Steve Lynch developed some "health problems" which threatened the tour. They then recruited a guy by the name of Steve Lewis, who Lynch knew from G.I.T. and whatnot, to fill in on tour, and when Lynch came back, I believe they both stayed in the band, because Lewis was on some of the subseqent releases. Also, Lewis (from Pasadena), was in a band that did the same "backyard-party" circuit as Van Halen in the early days. Dig this: When he first came on board, on that tour, he had to go by the name of Steve Lynch!I guess they thought they were building a "marquee" line-up or something.....
Yeah, when the record company wanted no more of them they presented them with a SHIT-ASS situation, which they could not remedy.
"ok, boys, we want the new album in two weeks, and by the way, all the good producers are tied up right now, so go do it yourselves....have a nice day....
Just another rat, flushed down the corporate sewer....
Now I don't know about Lynch, but that Lewis is a great player, and he's DEFINITELY no clone of anyone. He can shred that shit so good it'll peel the top of your skull off, or play something so koool you'll think your at a jazz show...I might be biased though....He's my lead man in Loss Of Control....www.lossofcontrol.net
I'll tell ya this guy is a fuckin FREAK, though...don't let him near your hamsters when he's drunk...baaaad scene....oops, nevermind... "If I took you to the river, well I bet you'd swim upstream.."<br /> -JL<br /> L.O.C.<br /> -2003-

I ran across this interview a while ago. Autograph drummer Keni Richards mentions how they hooked up with VH in '84.

I’m just hoping they nail the final 15-30 minutes and give Harrison and the character the send-off they deserve. Im trying not to take too much stock in what reviewers are saying. The...
