Guitar Worl Accoustic: new DLR interview
It has Springsteen on the cover, and a whole page on Dave's Strumming With The Devil at the end of the magazine.
It's pretty cool coz they interview some of the banjo players that played on the record. They also interview Dave.
What's pretty shocking is that he proclaims his love of country music, and then ends the interview by saying that a Kenny Chesney show has better chicks than a U2 concert.
I donno why all 3 camps of the VH family love this Chesney dude so much. If they wanna mention a relevant band, why don't they go to a Tool show? All this country music lovin is gettin old be4 it even started. Sad.Little Dreamer

I think it makes more sense for Dave to be into that kind of music than Ed and Al. His tastes have always been really diverse, and he's willing to take a lot of chances. It was a surprise to see Ed and Al jamming with Chesney, though. Country's not my thing, either and I would've preferred it (if they were going to emerge from the silence) if they would've jammed with a rock band. But...at least there's some activity. Maybe it's a good sign for the future.
And maybe it means nothing.DEAD OR ALIVE!!!

Kenny Chesney's music is not your typical country sound. It has rock influences. Just like Keith Urban's music. Their music reminds me of what John Mellencamp was doing 20+ years ago.

Country sucks.
I'd rather listen to Tool and I don't like them much either.Webmaster

Achievements:
Not a huge Chesney fan here, but he is FAR more relevant than Tool has ever been.
Whether that's a good thing or not is another question, but in terms of popularity, which is the main criteria in determining relevance in show business, this isn't even close.I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em. -

I'll tell you 20+ years.
Pull yer head out. Tool sells stadiums out in minutes anywhere in the world and are probably the finest rock band out there today (imho). btw they're playing sold out show tonight in Poland.
VH couldn't even sell out medium venues during their big-shot reunion a couple years ago.... and for good reason.
Kenny Chesney? Who the fuck is that? Guess I'd better brush up on my aussie country. (rolls eyes)
Nah. I'd rather go see Tool. (good luck finding a ticket for that one wruff)
Edit: And it appears that you guys measure "relevance" by a magazine cover.
Tool could be on every friggin' mag cover from here to... well, Poland. But they don't sell their heads. They play their music. You should try listening some time.Last edited by Wruff_ajax; 06.24.06 at 02:00 PM.

Define Relevant......
just some FYI.....do with it what you will....
Tool has 4 platinium albums.......2 of them twice over....1 of them 3 times over.....
Chesney has 7 plats.....3 of them 4 times over......2 are double...and 2 are still at one......
I am not making any kind of statement here on who is better...or who I would rather see.....or who is more relevant.....but....If I was going to play with someone....which one would reach more people......
kinda a no-brainer....
