What was van-halen.com like when Sam was in the band?

I remember when Gary was in the band. There were in the studio pics, updates on songs, what was going on w/the guys, etc.

What was it like when Sam was there? I don't think I had internet access back then (did anyone?

) and I was just curious how things were handled.

IF Sam does come back, which I doubt, does anyone think van-halen.com would be run any better or become more "fan-friendly"?

i think if dlr/sammy comes back we will see alot of shit on their web site,(photos, in stuido, etc).

In it's official form I believe Van-Halen.com came about in 1997 after Sammy had left the band. I think Brad had a fan site up prior but the whole internet thing was just in it's toddler stage right about when Sammy parted ways w/ VH.

Yep Sam wasn't in the band when V-H.com was launched.

Brads original site was very cool back in 1996-97 . Before it was the "official VH site".

Brads Van Halen page was always the 1st place fans on the net would go to learn about VH's current and past history... then he started working for the band and his site became the "official" Van-Halen.com blah blah blah... [img]graemlins/sleep.gif[/img]

It used to be a great site. There were full video downloads, studio stuff, pics., etc. Now, well obivously it sucks, but why update a site when the band has done nothing for a couple of years.

Brad's old site was called the Van Halen Enyclopedia, it really was a great piece of work. I thought we had a link to it from archive.org, but I can't find it on here and I can't remember that old URL to search for it.

If anyone actually remembers the URL to Brad's old site before v-h.com, post it and we can use archive.org to see what it looked like.

Back in '96-'97, it was a very informative site with tons of stuff. Then Brad went official.

I never saw Brad's original site since I didn't really get into the Internet until 4-5 years ago. I would truely believe that if Dave or Sam reunited with VH, the site would be 100 times better than it is now. DLR and SH toured because they knew the fans were craving for something VH-related.
