Imagine classic, original VAN HALEN re-convening live infronto'yo'...

There is some powerful magic/mojo in VAN HALEN. I still believe to my soul that a re-union show would pulverize rock n roll. 'Nuff said.
ASHES TO ASHES...DUST TO DUST...IF THE WOMEN DON'T GET YA, THE WHISKEY MUST!!...

"I used to play the blues alone in all the local joints," he explained. 'The only thing that I can really play on guitar to this day is the blues. I heard Doc Watson and his son playing 15 years ago, and from there I got into Leadbelly and John Lee Hooker."--DLR

If I had one biscuit, and sam hagar hadn't eaten nothin' in a month, I'd break it in two and eat both pieces.--Loons, celebrating Van Halen with David Lee Roth ONLY !!!

I'd be there with bells on.

That said, there ain't gonna be any similarities to classic Van Halen other than the setlist.

50 year olds can't play and jump off risers and booze like they did back in the heyday. And the chemistry would be different....lots of water under the bridge. Even if they made nicey-nice, it'd still be a noticeable difference in dynamics onstage. Such is the nature of life and age.

Undoubtedly the hardcore VH community, what little remains of it, would probably come up with some new moniker to describe a union of Roth et. al. in 2007.

They would no longer be appropriately titled classic Van Halen.

    Van Halen 4.0?

Van Halen with special guest David Lee Roth?

The Cash Grab Tour Volume II?

    The Eddie Van Roth Project?

Second that, in spades. Screw any live tour with any singer. Too volatile a band to trust a full tour completion.

A full studio VH album is worth more than anything these guys can offer otherwise.

Okay then, how about a new album with a behind the scenes 'making of' DVD? That would work!

I'd love to have both, but if I had to choose, I'll take the album...

Who said they all had to be in there all together or in the same studio for that matter.

When Motley got back together, Tommy would do his drum parts, leave then Vince came in to do the vocals. No conflict

Ed could do his stuff at 5150, Dave could come in do his thing or even record in a different studio. Ted comes in and does his magic....boom a new album.

And yes an in-studio DVD of the making of the album (Like Aerosmith did on the "Pump" album) would be nice.

Note to VH- Please work out all legal issues before stepping foot in the studio. Thank you.

I would be up much more for an album. Give me 10 more songs like Me Wise and Can't Get This Stuff.

Do a pay per view show in LA and then call it a day.

Put everything on DVD and release it with a box set.

While you're at it, maybe sit down at a table, the four of youse, have some nice homemade fuckin lemonade, get a bucket of spicy chicken wings, and hash it the fuck out, all of it, the chicks, the dicks, the chains, the whips, the crappy lyrics or the crappy playing, the bad vibes and soap opera horseshit starting back with Dave in '82 or the bad vibes and soap opera horseshit starting with Sam in '92, the singer versus that singer boring frontman war, the petty Mikey-Sheehan bassist crap, like four old buds who've played together far too much to let it circle the drain like a buncha of schoolyard girls pulling each others' pigtails. That would be a disaster. Tempers would flare after Sammy ate all the chicken wings, and Dave's midgets drank all the lemonade.

Let's not forget Al taking the whips and whippin' the chicks.

Maybe Dave could braid Ed's hair into pigtails as they played truth or dare.

If we ever see "A Very Special Evening with Van Halen" we'll know it truly is over. It seems like that's what every has-been act that rolls through bills their show as, especially if they're acting all "artistic" and doing a stripped down acoustic (in other words, cut-rate) set...

I'd love to see it. Don't think it'll happen, especially if Eddie doesn't sober up and Dave doesn't get humble, at least for a few minutes.

But I'd be there if it happened.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em. -
