Best of the Bluegrass sessions.
This blows that crappy jump thing out of the water. It is very cool and his voices sounds damn damn good.
Very cool version of Dance the Night Away.
Lets just throw a pound of weed in the fire place, f@#% it!

Sure as shit, brother!
So, we go and we hear Jump and Panama being played by violins and banjos, and David Lee out front singing with a voice that's half as potent as it was (at best).
"David Lee Roth is no longer the singer of Van Halen," the genie says.
My reaction, honestly, is thank goodness. What's yours?Last edited by te5150; 06.16.06 at 01:34 AM.

Actually, that wasn't half-bad, and certainly better than that damn Jump version. Still, the stream of consciousness rap midway through was a little out there, but definitely Dave-ish.
Has it been confirmed for sure that the summer tour is going to be entirely bluegrass sets?Last edited by Van Squalen; 06.16.06 at 01:34 AM.

The singing was "ok", he could have done much better..but I realy liked the way he did the story and tied it into the song...most excellent!

Thumbs down
I am a fan of solo Dave. My collection includes everything up to, but not including, the "Diamond Dave" cd. I was hoping that if he were to record again, that he would go back to R&R. These TV appearances have turned me off to seeing him live this summer. There is just no point. His obsession with playing an all VH setlist is annoying. And this bluegrass thing is just further deterioration of his talent. Playing on your own tribute album? I think it's pathetic. I went on Amazon last night to see if all of these appearances have done anything. Uh.....the album is #766 in music. Dave, unfortuanately, it is over pal. Your only hope "is" to pimp a reunion. BTW, I am not happy with this. I'd love to have the opposite reaction about Dave's current project. If some of you guys like it, I'm happy for you.
What are your major influences?
"Our major influences are my cock, Schlitz Malt Liquor, fast cars, loud music, volume. You know, all the usual."

much better than "jump" and "panama" that I've seen from this thing.
but I agree.. who plays on their own tribute album?(oh yeah, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley's silly asses)
20 + years later and Dave STILL can't get the lyrics to this song right
"come on! take a chance...."Last edited by hain23x; 06.16.06 at 11:03 AM.

Yeah, but the discussion is about the tunes that make the albums.
