This man is a big enough VH fan to want to interview Ed. He has an original, truly original, voice and from the vibes I picked up from the text, there seemed to be some good feelings going around. Just an idea but, just listen to songs like "disarm" or "tonight". Then sit back and imagine Ed as he is (ie...late fourties) with the kind of feeling he could put into this kind of song playing some (more sparse I admit) guitar or maybe piano or cello. It would not be VH. Maybe that would be a good thing. You can only sing about beer and hookers for so long before you get bored anyway. You know how football fanatics, for the US contingent I mean soccer, play fantasy football where everyone picks the greatest team ever to play........just think, Billy Corgan singing over Eddie Van Halen, playing all manner of instruments. Maybe it is time for us "fans" to be more open minded as to what this man can do. Just a thought.
