Nice! Never seen the full solo video before. I only have the 2 minute one with just the ending with Eruption. AWESOME!!! Thanks.

I think the Balance Tour was the best tour they did with Sammy. I recently found my VHS copy of the Toronto PPV show. I was watching it and trying to explain to my wife that this show was more along the lines of what I was hoping and expecting when I took her to see them in '04 (unfortunately her only VH live experience).
Such a shame. As I watched it I kept shaking my head going "what the fuck happened? We should have had more of THIS over the last decade."

at least now i know why they didnt do "dont tell me" during the balance tour. sounded like sam was struggling a bit with some of the high vocals. sounded good though, and totally reminds me of how great that tour was. saw 3 shows on that one!!

Always been my personal favorite Van Halen tour. Eddie's tone is killer, and the band has never sounded tighter than this.
In and out. I didn't even make that pun on purpose.

Awesome. Ive only seen the little 2 minute version of Eddies solo and I thought thats all there was. I liked the solo he was doing on top of 316. Eds obviously not one of the greatest blues players but when he wants to, he can belt it out

I thought the tour was OK.
Setlist was a little worn out for me.
Ed's tone was awesome.
Ed's stage presence sucked becuase of his hip.
Sam can't sing Don't Tell Me....the high parts are just out of his range. He even struggled during the Toronto PPV....kind of doing a spoken word thing rather than singing like on the album version.
I'd much rather have the energy of the '04 Tour or '98 Tour, but they did sound good in '95, but the energy level was in the shitter....at timesActually I think most of us are Dave, Sam, and Mike fans. There's just a small group of people who have strange allegiances and like to get into petty pissing contests that I can't believe everyone on this site isn't bored of. - Brett

the balance tour in philly was my first concert ever and was a good one. I'll always remember during Aint Talking About Love, everyone was doing the "hey hey hey" pumpin the fists in the air and their was one guy on the floor who had his cruth in the air as well. awesome memory

I watched the '95 solo and then scrolled down to "Poundcake 2004". Wow. Just watch those back to back. It's like night and day. Ed was out of time and sloppy and really half assing everything on the 04 tour. I remember at the show in K.C. getting all excited when it was time for the solo. I kept waiting to be blown away, but he just kind of noodled around. I was kind of like "uuuh, thats it?" He was a machine on the 95 tour. It'd be awesome if he could get his shit together and his band back together and go out on top.

Holy shit that solo (first vid) is incredible! Gives me goose bumps. Amazing. They really NEED to get through whatever differences they have, and issues they have, and get back to making some real VH music. Dave, Sam, Gary...I don't care.
