vito brattas tone

Anybody know how I would go about getting a vito bratta type tone.

I think he used an ADA MP1 Preamp and Carvin Poweramps. Not totally sure on the poweramps though.

Definitely ADA MP1. Bass on 6, Mid on 4-6, Treble on 4, Pres on 4. Any power amp. He made the ADA famous. Still one of the baddest preamps ever made. Can get them cheap on ebay.

Al, right? You using the Suhr CAE or the Splawn these days?

Not only was that used by Vito, but also by George Lynch and Nuno Bettencourt. I have George on an old cliic talking about the MP1. Nuno swore by that thing. But Buyer Beware: some people have complained about some bad units out there that are for sale on ebay. Make sure the return policy is sound. Good Luck.

Not Al... but I play Bass with him. I have played guitar for years as well. Between the Splawn and the CAE... my preference is the Splawn... just a little squeekier, a little better for VH, not quite as compressed sounding. Both are amazing.
