    DLR SOUNDED FANTASTIC TONIGHT!!

I just tuned in to see Roth on Leno and can honestly say this is the best vocally he has sounded in years!! EVH must have seen this and I hope he gets off his ass for what could be the most anticipated reunion in the last 15 years. If not, you can plan on some killer shows with DLR this summer...I know I'll be there. Man I love those Classic VH songs!!

Bro, come on. It ain't about Dave. It's about the style. It's like combining Sabbath with New Wave, or Zeppelin with Emo. The format just isn't viable.

Sure, it's just a novelty Noonan and I'm not going to go on a tangent as I've let myself as of late.

All I'm implying is that it was fun, he had fun, he's pimping the crap out of it and I'm diggin' the exposure.

After soooooo many years of NOTHING to talk about or discuss, Dave's definitely negated that in 2006 cos he's been all over the media.

Here's to hopin' for something far more grand.

Well, it's sure getting pimped like crezzi. Fuck, even the flop Van Hagar "Reunion" embarrassment never got this much of a media spotlight. It seriously cracks me up that some VH Tribute-Bluegrass album 'tis garnishing so much publicity?

I'll tell you, Dave's DEFINITELY on the right track with his PR people at this point, IMO.

Dave was really good tonight...his voice sounded great...just gotta stop that stupid grinning...i know it's part of his schtick, but come on...it aint 1984. Thought about going to see him again this summer...now i'm convinced...gotta catch him on the road this year!!
...and in the end, on dreams we will depend...

    Dave sounded decent.

The banjo player and his solo get my vote for MVP.

How about the "pop" from the crowd when Dave walked out on stage.

I liked Jamie's Cryin' tune, but for me, this whole bluegrass thing is just a little odd. It's kind of cool to listen to once...or twice, but it isn't a real visual thing for me.....kind of reminded me of seeing Rush.

I liked Dave's "Indian Calls" towards the end......I really thought that made the perfomance.....I was really hoping for a brief display of martial arts or his "Sword Dance".......that shit gets me fucking pumped for a VH reunion.
Actually I think most of us are Dave, Sam, and Mike fans. There's just a small group of people who have strange allegiances and like to get into petty pissing contests that I can't believe everyone on this site isn't bored of. - Brett

If you like Dave's voice then you have to like last night's performance. He sounded about as good as he can live. I obviously like his voice so I thought it was pretty cool. When I listened to the album Jamie's Cryin' was my favorite and it seemed the crowd was into it. Maybe Dave is going to get some momentum out of this thing. When I first heard it I thought it was just Dave having fun one weekend, but he is promoting the shit out of this thing; which begs the question of where was the Van Halen promotion for the Summer 2004 tour? I know they were not getting along but Sam could have done the publicity for it unless he wasn't allowed to.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

    Default good?

I suppose the band sounded good ( if you like that style ), but Dave just sounds TONE DEAF to me.

I was actually hoping the boys WEREN'T watching. If they saw it, I bet they were laughing. (I actually cringed a couple of times). How can you say his voice was good? Because he yells "Whoa" a couple of times? This was not the way to judge Roth's voice. Get him out there with Eddie and the guys behind him and we'll see how he does.
But, on the flip side, I do give him credit for doing SOMETHING!!!! I like Roth, but this just doesn't look right.
