Got my copy today, I'm fairly impressed. It's at least interesting to listen to. I love the vocals on I'll Wait. I think it's cool to see at least something VH released, what do you guys think?

I've had my copy for the last month or so and it is still in rotation in my car. Pretty cool.

I am diggin it so far. But I wish Dave would have sang on more than just two tracks. Especially seeing how he seems to be really out there promoting it.

A mockery of what once was. Truly pathetic. How sad that Dave continues use the music that he so willingly kicked to the curb out of his own arrogance.
I'm not slamming Dave, I just wish he'd try something new, without bastardizing the legacy of Van Halen.

Q: who was the biggest douche that you have worked with?

A: Eddie Van Halen hands down he threatened all the stage hands that if we wernt all pushed to the side when he got off stage that he would "bash our faces in"

I'm not a big fan of novelty CD's. If I want bluegrass I'll listen to Del McCoury. If I want Van Halen I'll listen to Van Halen. If I want novelty I'll listen to Weird Al.
We are all on this forum because of Van Halen. Period.

I heard the whole thing on CMT.com and, while I think Bluegrass players can really rip it up, the album didn't appeal to me. It's always nice to experiment, but I'd prefer he do it with original songs rather than with these classics. The only tune on the album I really liked was Ice Cream Man.

We came through blood and fire...

"I aim to misbehave." - Captain Malcolm Reynolds: Firefly

Proud fan of BOTH major eras of Van Halen. Yes, we do exist.

"Men never commit evil so fully and joyfuly as when they do it for religious convictions"-- Blaise Pascal (1623-1662)

The Sass Jordan version of Van Halen was the best...

Well for the record, I got my copy free from the record label, so I can't complain either way.

OK, I just picked it up (free for me--had a gift card). The 2 songs with Roth are good (in bluegrass standards--not VH of course). But Jamie's Cryin' is really cool.
The rest of the stuff w/out Roth isn't as appealing. Although Runnin' with the Devil is tolerable.

I agree. I like the take on Jamie's Cryin and I'll Wait..
