Lets suppose......................
Let say Eddie just wants to forget about "Van Halen" for awhile and just do some collaborations with other artists and singers and not call it VAN HALEN.
Who would you like to Ed work with?
I'd like to see him do something melodic with Steve Perry.
Something that rocks out with Tommy Shaw and Jack Blades, maybe a new version of "Damn Yankees" and just add Ed and Al.
Something instrumental with Jimmy Page
Something that would become an instant classic with Robert Plant.'Old Van Halen, when I was in it-classic Van Halen-makes you wanna drink, dance and screw, right? And the new Van Halen encourages you to drink milk, drive a Nissan and have a relationship.' - David Lee Roth.

I for some reason have always seen Ed working with Michael Bolton, now remember, Bolton started out as a rocker, I think they could click.

I want to see Ed work with some of the newer cats out there.....and not some of the guys from the 80's despaertly trying to hang on......more along the lines of what Santana is doing.....it would bring in a lot more of the younger fans and let them hear a true musical genius for the first time......
that being said, how about.......Dave Grouel.......Nickleback......Billy Joe (he is a fan)......even some of the more "pop" artists......Gwen Stefani........and hey, WTF.....Kelly Clarkson.....put a bad-ass guitar on "since you've been gone"........
I'm sorry.....did I say that out loud?

I understand the theory behind the thread, but it implies that Ed is ready to make music again...if that were the case, the 04 reunion would have produced more than three songs.
But let's say he is somehow ready and Sam and or Dave are out (don't know why either would be)....
I'd love to see Eddie sit in with Metalica for a special set somewhere. The Barn Burned Down, Now I can See the Moon

I like to see Ed work with Jack Black just for fun, I'm sure those 2 would have a ball together. Jack's got a great voice and is a positive person.
Bobby Cohn: Who's going to be at Waynestock?
Wayne Campbell: Um, uh...Aerosmith & Pearl Jam!
Garth Algar: Ha ha ha ha ho!
Bobby: Who else?
Garth: Uh, me...and...and Wayne...
Wayne: ...and uh...VAN HALEN!!!
Garth: Wow. Van Halen. Who else?
Bobby: Yeah, who else?
Wayne: Uh, an old man fashioning a kayak out of a log?

I would like to see Edward do a instrumental album. No vocals on it. I would like to see him play the with the likes of Steve Morse, Leslie West, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck and a cast of others. That would be the shit if that can be pulled off.

I could easily see Ed and Billy corgan making some sweet sweet music. Both consider themselves musicians and I thinka collaboration between the two would make some of the most unique music anywhere on the planet.

How about Ed with the Golden Earring (Dutch rock band. Songs like, "When The Lady Smiles", "Twilight Zone" and "Radar Love").
Maybe, just maybe Ed needs to go back to his roots. Just an opinion.
