Don' t know if anyone has seen this yet, but in the July 2006 issue of STUFF magazine, they have an article entitled "The Poser's guide to...Guitar Gods". Four guitarists are listed in this order: Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen, Eric Clapton and Carlos Santana.

Jimi Hendrix: The beginning and end of any conversation; also, lit his guitar on fire and worshiped it. Check "Voodoo Chile".

Eddie Van Halen: Technically, one of the most proficient and mind-meltingly fast gunslingers ever. Check "Eruption".

Eric Clapton: People used to scrawl "Clapton is God" on walls in England in the '60s. Check "Cocaine".

Carlos Santana: Santana has always been a smooth shaman with his fretboard. Check "Soul Sacrifice".

Not any new news, but nice to see a positive mention of Eddie in a pretty hip, young magazine. The article included a cool shot of Eddie from the 2004 tour. Just wish he was holding the "5150" and not a "Wolfgang"...

IMO, they got the first 3 right and in correct order. Like Santana and all, but don't think he'd be up with the other 3.

I see Carlos being on the list. More underrated than the other 4, for sure. I sure can't see Ace Frehley or Joe Perry being on there
