was that scotty's handiwork? i knew he left to pursue other stuff, but it looks like his heart is still close to VH and their fans then. he always seemed like a cool guy/ voice of sanity when he spoke out from inside the VH camp.

Yes. He was the "silent partner". Even Sam spoke at one point and said how it was Scotty that brought them together.

Sam's managed by (or at least was) by UberManager Irving Azoff. If you remember t5he Stern show where Dave was in studio, with Sam on the phone (ya know-the "coin toss") Dave said, when asked how it started: "I had my new assistant, Matt, call Irving Azoff, Sam's manager"

Good point TJ#1. Sam thanks Azoff in the "Not 4 Sale" liner notes, and I've seen nothing that suggests the two aren't still working together. Here's hoping one or both make it to 5150 in '03.Sam's managed by (or at least was) by UberManager Irving Azoff.
Maybe Scotty Ross will answer the door when they arrive or maybe let the whole group use his house as a neutral site.
