How bout' a reunion with Vai, Sheehan, and Greg B? That would be the best, if the original VH don't get back together.

If the Van hagar got back together than I would love a new album and tour from EEAS. but I would much rather have Van Halen back.
Lets Hope VH gets some Sensible Shoes that lead them back to Dave.

It would be a lot like a Van Hagar reunion: not bad, but not what the majority of fans really want to see.

(RR) There's been rumours about a reunion of the David Lee Roth band!
(Sheehan) We just talked a little bit. I talked with Dave one night in a club in L.A. We ran into each other, drank alot of beer. But no plans. We talked a little bit about it, but no actual plans. I'd be open to it and I think Steve would too. But so far with schedules and everything it's been hard to get together. We'll see. No plans yet.
Good interview with Billy. (And hey, he plugs my favorite band, King's X, 3 or 4 times)
I would love to see this reunion. Even better would be to get Terry Bozzio in on drums!
If anything would make the Bros. sweat, this would. Not the current noastalgia fest going on now!

(1) Steve Vai - (who incidentally is one of my favorites of all time) He has a very loyal following right now that has pretty much given him free reign to create the type of music that Steve wants to create. Most people think only of America when they think of record sales, popularity, etc. Steve has had top 10 hits (yes that is his instrumental albums) in Japan and South America. Maybe some of the Europeans in the group could interject some thoughts about Steve's popularity in Europe?
In 1985 Steve needed Dave, but he doesn't need him anymore. I cannot imagine that Steve would be interested in being Dave's "hired gun" again. Sheenen, though he is amazing, is a little limited for solo projects at this time. His career has mainly been associated with being parts of bands. I think he would be more willing to do it out of any of them.
(2) Terry Bozzio (and this is only a response to ETRIGAN's post)- Terry and Steve still have issues with one another. During the project "Sex and Religion," Steve took complete control over everything and Terry absolutely hated that music. He went into it thinking that it was a band contribution, but it turned out to be another Vai solo album (this is a full admition from Vai's own mouth). I was at a drum clinic with Terry and someone asked him to play something from the "Sex and Religion" album. He frowned and refused to play it because he, "didn't really like that stuff." I don't think Terry will play with Steve again for that reason. Both of them are both doing what they want to do and are forgiving people, but I can't imagine them ever choosing to work together again.
(3) If it did happen, it would only be to put out a studio album and not tour (for time reasons). Dave's studio days are rather numbered and most people (NOT ALL) are more interested in seeing him live vs. on record. I can't imagine an EEAS reunion would produce more of a crowd than a g3 or Vai solo. I highly doubt that Dave would do a record if they didn't tour. Plus, I think that Vai is already working on his next record as we speak.
* These are just my doubts. I am analyzing from a pretty pessimistic standpoint and maybe it could happen, but I think odds point in the other direction. Vai doesn't need Dave anymore. I think they probably have a good relationship, but I can't imagine Vai putting all his other stuff aside for this.

What does Terry Bozzio have to do with anything????
I think an EEAS reunion would just confuse everyone too much. I can picture my eyes glazing over while wading through posts (arguments, what's the difference?) about which is better... classic EEAS or the new EEAS. And what about Brett Tuggle? Sigh... that band was a reaction to Van Halen and Dave splitting up, pure and simple. Bringing it back would be like digging up a dead and buried horse and flogging it with a tootpick. No relevence anymore. Maybe in 30 or 40 more years I'll have the capacity to get nostalgic about EEAS. But the record was good, don't get me wrong...Staying Frosty

Roth fans are funny... 'Most people want Roth back in Van Halen' Most people don't know who DLR is... Most people don't hardly know who Sammy Hagar is. If you are refering to 80's rock fans you may have more wanting Roth than Hagar because it has only been 8 years since people have seen VH/Hagar but it has been 17 years since VH/Roth performed. It would be a great tour for memories of high school/college for the rock fans pushing 40.
If you are speaking of which of the two would sell more it would be Hagar just because he would write some songs that got radio play outside of classic rock stations with demos over the age of 30. What people here call 'cheese' but what performers call 'money'. Unless Roth put together a Jump or Panama but from what I can tell Roth fans hate Jump and Panama and would bitch and complain they sold out. We won't mention Crazy from the Heat or California Girls....
Regardless, the fact of the matter is no one really likes DLR except DLR fans. Yes many of us like his music but I would estimate the vast majority find him to be a very odd person and someone they wouldn't want to be stuck next to on an airplane. If you want a little peace, sometimes you got to fight

How can you predict what type of sales each version of VH would generate? Oh that's right, you're not RIAA or Billboard, so you cant. What classic VH die-hards refer to as "cheese" & Van Hagar fanse call "money" is all relative. If all it takes to make money is a couple of good songs on an album & the rest of it is filler, thats fine & all, but it was a lot more apparent that classic VH was more focused on making a complete album than having a couple of good songs on it.
What basis do you have to comment on what type of music a Dave/Ed combination or even a Sam/Ed combination would produce? Nada. Pretty much like the rest of us. That "Sammy & Ed can make great music again, but Dave & Eddie have lost it" crap is just personal bias & to a lesser extent taste. And let me know when you hear a Van Hagar song on an alternative/indie radio station, will ya?
As for the crack about the rock fans pushing 40, that sounds like somebody who's still a little green around the gills. Who fucking cares how old you are if you can still rock? Just ask Keith & Mick. I guarantee you wouldn't say the same thing to them, or to Roth if you were sitting next to him on an airplane (which incidentally would more than likely be an intelligent albeit all-over-the-place conversation). Hey, I'm a month shy of 33, so I'm hardly 40 and I've got the youth of a 25 year old, so keep those types of comments to the Creed & Linkin Park websites where you belong.Q: Recording the album took so long your Australian tour last year was cancelled. What was it like in the studio? There's a history of tension between you and Eddie Van Halen...
DLR: It was like a stand off in a Chuck Norris movie. We each had the laser dot on everybody's forehead waiting for the other guy to blink. Except for Wolfie, he had a Super Soaker ...

It's just Sammy improvising. It's not from an existing song/cover piece. Might actually have been a lyric chunk Sam had ready to go. Sounds like he was not expecting the riff that Ed launched into...
