    Does it really sound like Billy Sheehan-style bass, though? I can't imagine Schenker tolerating complex bass lines on his songs...

    MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP
    After leaving Scorpions for a second time, Michael Schenker wanted to start his solo career. He assembled a superb lineup.

    Gary Barden (vocals)
    Michael Schenker (guitar)
    Billy Sheehan (bass)
    Denny Carmassi (drums) [Montrose & Sammy Hagar Band]

    They recorded some demos, but finally, they split, so Schenker and Barden recorded their first album with famed sessionmen (Mo Foster, Don Airey and Simon Phillips).

    Sheehan and Schenker toured together last year;

    Here's a band that I did little listening to in the mid 1980's - The MSG. Although I admire MS for the guitar player he is, I was never a super huge fan. I do not own any of his records as a solo artist. I'd prefer him as a UFO band member. And there was that McAuley Schenker Group days that I barely remember listening to - maybe 02 or 03 songs, a video shoot once posted in this site and that's it. Most of the folks here where I live that listen to Heavy Music enjoy the band and all the other projects that Schenker was in. I don't - even though he had Cozy Powell as his drummer for 01 album (the 1981's MSG release), I really never followed his career close enough the call myself a good fan. On the other hand, I could listen to UFO's records like Force It or Lights Out or Obsession and praise the band's effort with him as a band mate/composer. But ... I'd prefer anything with Paul Chapman or Paul Raymond and these stuff would put a smile on my face.

    Did you like “One Night At Budokan”? I played the hell out of that album.

    Yeah!! I remember that one - it has both Cozy and Raymond!! Budokan, Tokyo Tapes and Strangers in the Night are some of the greatest live records ever released. Well ... SITH is a studio live record, but still - it kicks!! 02 songs off Budokan were great hits in 1982/83 here in Brazil - Armed & Ready and Are You Ready to Rock?. Mad Axeman was another favourite. But, man ... Back then there was Diver Down and Creatures of the Night - I played COTN to exhaustion learning all the drum lines and lead vocals.

    Some of these were legitimately released a few years ago on a deluxe version of MSG's debut album.
