One of the girls from that new group Kittie says that Dance The Night Away is one of her favorite songs in the new Guitar World with Jerk Hammet on the cover. Just thought I'd pass that along. Is Kittie any good, BTW? I've never heard them.

Weren't they in a recent Rolling Stone article where they mentioned Van Halen 2 being an influence? I thought I saw that maybe a couple of months ago. In the article I saw there was a tiny picture of the cover of VH 2.

I heard that Kittie album and I must say it gave me a brainache. My bro bought it and he liked it but to me it was noise with chicks screaming like they were pist and rambling cusswords. So while this female recognizes good music she can not play it, at least from the tracks I heard before I made my brother turn it off because my hurt so damn bad. It is hardcore punk I would say. Manson, Korn trash without the originality to think it up on their own. GO to the record store and look at the cover the girl would look good if it wasn't for that bucket of black spankle they put on their faces. I found the music to be very pissed at the world. Just my review on it and who am I.

How the hell can you people bring up lame ass crap-metal WORTHLESS bands such as Creed, Slipknot, Kittie, Kid Rock etc when there are AWESOME bands (made up of ACTUAL musicians) just goddamn WAITING for you to pay attention to them; such as In Flames, Dream Theater, Iced Earth, Nevermore...

anyway, Kittie is a bunch of 15 year old canadian girls who play of the moment type music. I don't like it much either but it is kinda weird/neat watching little girls play grungy metal. And yes, one of them is a HUGE VH fan and I think thats awesome

I am relieved. For a second there, after reading this thread's title, I thought VIC was starting another 'who should open for Halen' chat. I don't who it should be but I know it shouldn't be KITTIE. No offense. I just think if Diamond Dave kept a girl-act around, he'd expect to be able to treat them like he treated the Go-Go's. Or maybe Kittie would have to treat Dave like the Go-Go's did. Either way, their music doesn't leave room for any debate as to if they'd be Dave's toys on tour.

Once again, thanks for not starting a campaign for Kittie. I would have shit.

Right on Spanish DOc!!! Dream Theater and Iced Earth ROCK!!! Fates Warning is pretty awesome too. I dig this kind of metal because these days, its the only "new heavy metal" available.

I heard Kittie's album, it ain't that great. But they're 15 and VH influenced them so I'll call 'em promising for now. But yeah, if ya wanna talk aboot new hard rock bands, I'll add to the list with Sevendust, Godsmack, Staind and Full Devil Jacket.

SHIT DUDE?!?!?! Did I imply thta I dislike Sevendust and the rest of the bands I mentioned??? No, I love 'em especially Sevendust. Seen 'em live 3 times now and they put on a great show. they are my favorite band right now. Lajon rocks...Yeah, I liked that band since I first heard Black. Damn near every song on the Home cd is great especially Home, Denial, Headtrip, Licking Cream...well they're all good.

I meant I was adding to the list of bands we should be talkin aboot. sorry for the misunderstanding.

Godsmack is also pretty damn good, who cares if the singer sounds like Layne Staley. Musically they really are nothing like AIC anyway. To lump them in with losers like Kid Rock is a bit harsh, they are a kickass band IMO, one of the few good new metal bands I like.

Sheesh, Span Doc, everyone's entitled to their own opinion.

I've heard a Kittie song on the radio, and it didn't do anything for me. But the singer, Morgan Lander (I think that's her name) is a huge Dave fan. She wears this =VH= necklace and all.

Someone in VH's internet following, I forget who, emailed me about how he was at a Kittie show and he and his friend were standing around afterwards talking VH, and Morgan overheard and came bounding over to them and asked "Are you guys talking about David Lee Roth? He's my favorite..."

Kittie probably figures they must be doing something right, cuz all of a sudden they're everywhere. I hope they stick it out, they're 15 years old, they'll probably get better with time.
